More traditionally, over last 10 years (including this year), KU has 283 wins and 54 losses, six S16s, four E8s, two FFs, 2 NC appearances, and 1 NC.

Over the same time, Duke has 278 wins and 58 losses, six S16s, two E8s, two FFs, 1 NC appearance, and 1 NC.

If there's a difference between these two programs, it's very slight and perhaps only a little bit in favor of KU. The only thing that's clear is that they are both in a league of their own in college basketball.

Excellent research. KU has always done phenomenally in KenPom. DOesn't surprise me that they and Duke are so far ahead of the pack. I would've figured Mich State and OSU woudl've been higher than they were in the raw data.

OSU is 13.7 in nine years under Thad Matta. The year before he got there they were terrible under Jim O'Brien (117) and that brought their average down significantly.

Call it luck, clutchness or Izzo coaching, but Michigan St. has a way of regularly outperforming what they do in the regular season in the NCAA tournament.

One more thing is that if you just averaged the schools that Calipari coached over the last 10 years (Memphis and Kentucky), the rating would be 12.1, firmly in third place over that time.

They punked us last year. And I think it was even neutral court.

Which made the fact that they got every call in the game even more ridiculous.

KU has managed to get Kentucky, Arizona, Michigan, Ohio State, UCLA, Michigan St., Villanova, Georgia Tech, Tennessee... Basically a lot of good programs into Allen over the last 10 years or so.

Duke and UNC would be nice but yes, those are difficult to schedule.

That's why Wicked's comment about KU being clearly better, was so odd to me. I wondered what he was reading or watching that would lead him to that conclusion.

Remember too that 10 years is a bit arbitrary. Duke was vastly superior the 5 years prior. So going back the last 15 years, it's not even a question. And if we do that, we pull in more UNC success, and more UK success at the end of Pitino/beginning of Tubby. Also, Florida and Mich State also have cases to make as equals.

The last 10 years are not arbitrary, they make up the Bill Self era at KU. We've been the best college basketball program over that time.

Bill Self is the epitome of consistency.

Bingo. Wouldn't make much sense to compare KU vs. Duke before Self got here.

Haven't we won 100 of our last 101 games at AFH? That's nasty.

Hey asshole.

You going to make it next Saturday?!

Chiefs Pantalones 01-13-2013 02:39 PM

Michigan goes down at Ohio State. I can't wait until March.

O.city 01-13-2013 02:42 PM

That win at OSU looks a whole lot better now.
