It also isn't enough to win in the playoffs without a legendary defense.

What's the point, really, of "Win now" if its expiration date is the end of the regular season?

We'll see. Hopefully it is.

There is no shame in rooting for both Alex Smith and Geno Smith.

Exactly, unless the Jets played the Chiefs.

Quite frankly, EJ Manuel did better than Geno, or Alex. Yes, he lost, but he played exceptionally well, for a rookie against the Patriots and barely lost. Geno barely won against the Bucs.

Maybe we should be upset we didn't draft EJ Manuel...

I would bet over 90% of the people that wanted Geno would have been as happy with Manuel on draft day and now.

LMAO, no they wouldn't have. Nobody and I mean nobody was pushing for Manuel at 1.1

I thought his performance was pretty much identical to Alex Smith's.

Granted, Manuel did that against New England while Alex Smith did it against Jacksonville, but still, the numbers are very similar.

I would have been fine with Manuel, but I think Geno Smith has more long-term upside. Manuel is huge and has the big arm, but his playing style doesn't always fit that.

Go back and look. I remember post after post about prefering Geno, but being happy with just taking a QB in the first instead of a RT. I know SNR stated that time after time.

Milkman put it well as usual. http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...&postcount=140

Alex Smith showed me basically exactly what I expected yesterday. He was fine. He didn't make any huge mistakes. He checked down a lot. He showed good short-area accuracy.

He was OK working from a mostly clean pocket and made some nice, short throws. His defense set him up with short fields multiple times, and the O took advantage.

It is telling that none of you Alex Smith haters mention the long passes he threw. One dropped by Fasano and one caught by McCluster. You just dwell on the short stuff as if that is all he did. Cherry picking mofos.

What long pass to McCluster? I remember a 15-yard (or so) dig/drag route.

I missed the pass to Fasano... was still on the road until the free kick for the safety. Radio guys did not make a big deal about Fasano dropping it... and it sounded like Len thought it was not a great throw, so I didn't put much stock in that.

Fisher looked better than Geno yesterday.

Pretty sure McCluster had a nice grab in the seam. Wasn't a dig or a drag. Don't remember the concept, alignment, or coverage.
