Allen has played very well. He's really progressing beyond what looked possible for him.

But as in all things,

What did he do in the play-offs?

What did Mahomes do?

There's your gulf, and there's only one way to close it.

The Steelers are the biggest threat, but the Colts or Titans are capable of a divisional round upset if the Chiefs play crappily. If it turns out to be the Chiefs-Steelers for the championship, Andy and the other coaches are probably smart enough to watch lots of film and ask the Bengals how they did it.

He's likely losing Daboll after this year, pretty good chance we see some regression without his OC.
