But I also think you're entirely minimizing the situation by just assuming they should've been able to easily play the game on Tuesday or Wednesday. I think it's a different perspective on empathy for where they were at those points, but we've all gone back on that ad nauseum so no reason to rehash. If the game could've been rescheduled for this weekend and they refused, absolutely on the same page as you. |

He's the doofus that got handed the wheel right as DVRs and on-demand television made live sports the last bastion for effective television advertising. So companies started HURLING money at professional sports. And since the NFL plays so few games, the scarcity of the product drives the demand up and makes them the natural landing spot for the biggest chunks of it. 80% of this board could've presided over the rise of the NFL. CoMo would've ****ed it up. Probably Billay. But even Clay could've managed to not trip over his own feet here. This was a golden goose - Goodell hasn't done shit. |
Roger Goodell and the league office after they announce this new bullshit playoff option and it drives discussion and ratings:

Only Fair way... :D :hmmm: |
honestly I've come around to thinking that really it shouldn't be a no contest and since both teams decided to stop playing, the game should be considered concluded and the score at the time they stopped the game should count. It was a mutual decision by both teams so only they should be affected by it. Bengals win 7-3. This way no other team gets screwed by something they had no control of, teams know what is coming in the last week and can start or sit whoever, etc. It's not ideal but IMO it's the fairest way to go.

I don't get why Cincinnati wouldn't have to come to KC, assuming we win this week and they win out of the other side of the bracket. Makes zero sense. |

5th Annual Mahomes Invitational? :toast:
Some dude from PFT said he expects the league to officially declare the Bills-CIN game a "no-contest" this afternoon. It would be for the best. :D |

So it's not just "neurotic fans" needing to know... it's the other teams, players, coaches, etc. involved in the playoff chase that need the information as well. |
