Enjoy the wins while they are there, knowmo.

The playoffs are just around the corner and you know deep down how the year is gonna end.

A very very cold day when your hero lets you down.

It's a little alarming how many times I have to explain this to you. Do I think that a team could eschew a QB, line up exclusively in the wildcat, and run the ball 60 times, and KC's defense would resort to flailing around, unable to stop them? No, that's stupid.

I'll explain it again, let me know if you don't understand any of it.

KC's defense is good, unlike last year. Why? I think it's because of the scheme more than the talent. I think that the aggressiveness of the scheme results in success against the pass, while leaving it vulnerable against the run. Overall, it has been extremely successful so far.

What happens to schemes as the season goes on? They get figured out and exploited by other teams.

I look for the defense to regress to its talent level (which is still pretty good, just not mid-80s Bears good) over the rest of the season. I think we've already seen this beginning to happen, with the defensive performances we saw against Case Keenum and Jason Campbell.

Huh.

Baltimore played a hell of a game in the playoffs to beat Denver in double OT.

Manning had an INT for a pick 6 in the first quarter, a sack fumble in the 3rd (I believe) and then the INT in the first OT.

Still had nearly 300 yards and 3 TDs. Denver's defense gave up nearly 500 yards of offense, but let's focus on Manning in the cold - that's the absolute only reason they lost that game 35-38.

Ravens went on to beat NE in their house the next week, 28-13.

Brady threw for 320, 1 TD and 2 INTs... did he choke?

While it's not a huge sample size, the numbers say he's not nearly the game guy when it's cold. You pick a game or two out I guess and point to that game, but I'll as small as a sample size as it is it's more than 1 game.

Besides the numbers aspect you just look at the dude and he looks miserable in the cold compared to whoever the opposing QB is.

There's no doubt that weather is a game changer, esp with someone that spent their career in a dome. Manning has a poor cold weather record, but they didn't lose to Baltimore because of the cold weather - it was a factor, but not a major contributing factor in my opinion.

So do you attribute it to him being a Dumbass then?

I think it played a huge factor in OT of that game. He appeared able to handle it for awhile, but the longer the game went the more it was a factor. The look on his face was one of "I want to be anywhere but in this cold mother ****er" in OT. It was the same look Favre had in his playoff loss to the Giants in GB. Just old and ****ing cold.

Pampered Peyton is a pussy coward.

Gase, when asked about the "rap" against Peyton as a cold-weather QB:

"I don't know the total; I've only been around him two years. The thing that probably pisses me off more than anything, is the fact that I don't want anybody else as my quarterback. And I'm going to go in with him every Sunday, and it's a great feeling to have. When you've got him back there, you know that your chances of winning are pretty good. And when you don't have a guy like that and I've been in that spot a lot, and it sucks. You know (that) you walk in there, and you don't have a shot. So I'll take him (Manning) any day of the week
