Frozenchief is acting like we just picked Mitchell Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes
|
Not sure how Chief Fan doesn’t LOVE this pick. The guy is perfect for this offense. He’s tough and can split out wide. It’s brilliant.

In Veach we trust.
His playoff games were fun to watch and he's a weapon, but the pick just feels weird to me. Just meh, but Veach could pick a homeless midget off the street and at this point I'd just assume he knows what he's doing. |

Mecole doesn't seem happy.

That said, if he loves one enough to sign off on taking him early, then he’s probably a ****ing baller. I’d rather take a good running back than reach for a CB, LB, etc |
Hhhhmmmm, let’s look at, oh, I don’t know, actual data, and see why in 2020, you shouldn’t draft an RB in the first round of the draft:
https://www.pff.com/news/pro-are-nfl...018-nfl-season Hey, look, you know what we see? If you take out information about the identity of the running back, IT DOESN”T MATTER. Why? Because the O line is far more important to the running game than the running back. How about this one: RB performance is not as stable as QB and WR: https://www.kaggle.com/c/nfl-big-dat...cussion/112044 Yeah, but we need an RB that can CATCH THE BALL, just like Kareem Hunt! Actually, that doesn’t work so well, either: https://theathletic.com/1143546/2019...ake-any-sense/ Why? Well, maybe because in the NFL today, you THROW to win. You don’t establish the pass with the running game. you don’t need a good play action to sell the pass. No, you throw to win: https://www.numberfire.com/nfl/news/...be-overdrafted So, no. I’m not happy. We wasted an opportunity. What are we going to do in 3 or 4 years? Keep him? Try to trade him? We need a CB and we need LBs and we need good OL guys. You want to improve the running game? Draft an offensive line. A good O line gets you a much better running game and protects your MVP QB. What a damn waste of a pick. |
