Lew has a ton of problems but something tells me K State would have put up with him for less than 10 years if it meant winning a BCS Bowl and a National Championship.

Yes it was.

And Kansas has the alumni to make sure it happens again. There's a reason the school has 3 different watch sites where I live in New York City.

Kinda amazing for a state that has to share another BCS program with less than 3 million people.

A new AD will be taking over next year and usually when that happens they like to bring in their own football coach.

I already get the sense from many KU fans that they didn't like the hire from the beginning and they could easy abandon the guy. Even some KU fans on this board and the KU boards are already saying it.

Do you think that they will hire Urban Meyer or Nick Saban to become the third coach in three years after the last two were unceremoniously fired? KU will really be working from a position of strength. Don't be surprised if they don't know that you have a good basketball team, though. You see, schools with good football teams don't really give a shit about basketball.

Is this the moment where you realize how pathetic you are for picking your college team out of a phonebook? Probably not.

That's just not true. Sorry to break it to you.

But yes, schools that have won both the basketball national title and a football BCS game are very rare.

Schools that have won both titles obviously even more rare. I can think of only Florida. Maybe Michigan but their title was taken away.

Maybe UCLA did it? Something interesting to research.

Ohio State came pretty close. Or are you talking in the same year?

Saulbadguy 09-06-2010 05:03 PM

BCS games have only been around since 1998. Not that i'd expect a KU fan to know that.

Yeah, dude, one of my best friends moved to LA last September and it's the same thing there. Kind of nice.

It's completely true. People at UF don't give a rat's ass about basketball.
