Football Outsiders ranks the Chiefs pass protection at #22, not awful but not good. Pretty bad. They looked worse than 22nd last night.

Perhaps.

With worse pass protection.

Bridgewater is throwing for more YPG than Smith, and doing so with 800 year old Greg Jennings as his WR1.

It was insane that Bridgewater dropped in the draft just because of 1 bad pro day. It is as if all the QB scouts forgot all of his college tape and focused only on that 1 terrible pro day.

Mind boggling.

Now Manziel was a much bigger risk and he scares me a bit, but I was literally suprised when Dorsey passed on Bridgewater. I saw him fall to 23 and I thought, "Chiefs take him. NO WAY they let him slip further".

They didn't want to challenge Smith's ego. He couldn't handle having a legit competitor for his job.

Oh, to have Smith playing out the string on his contract with a young QB waiting in the wings to replace him.

Chiefs would have major leverage and could either give him less cash with more outs, or let him walk and slide in the rook.

Based on what Bridgewater has done this year in a much worse situation, it would be a pretty nice spot to be in.

It would require taking a chance on a first-round QB and getting very little on-field contribution from the 2014 first-round pick. They just couldn't afford to get nothing from that pick this year, I guess.

Oh, wait...

The Chiefs handed the keys to Alex just like they did with Cassel. It's ****ing pathetic.

How has Smith only thrown 10 passes over 20 yards?

Austin 47 receptions for 568 yards and 2 TDs.
Gabriel 30 receptions for 540 yards and 1 TD. (longest 70 yards).

A bad QB able to find some poor WRs.

Um. Cleveland has Joe thomas Joel Bitonio alex mack and Mitchell Schwartz.

In a thread of complete reerunation, this might be the dumbest.

What ego? That's one of his biggest problems. Zero swag, ego killer instinct.

Mack is hurt now but back to the Hall of Famer.

According to ProFootballFocus.com, Thomas has allowed a league-low six pressures in 10 games. Six linemen allowed six or more pressures in Week 11 alone.

Left over Right side doesn't matter as much nowadays but to know you have 1 rock solid as as hell guy on your o-line makes things much easier when building crew to protect your QB.

I'd give up a testicle to have Erich Fisher suddenly turn the corner and become as good as Joe Thomas.

..how to be an elite QB in the NFL....this happened last night as well.

Hammock Parties 12-01-2014 08:54 PM

It's a massive league-wide conspiracy against the Chiefs since 2006. Any QB they get is not allowed to throw the ball down the field.
