What's ironic is that Donaldson's votes have skyrocketed in the last week while his offensive numbers have plummeted. In his last 10 games he's batting .150 (6 for 40) with 0 HR, 1 RBI, and 15 strikeouts. Meanwhile, Moustakas has batted .378 (14 for 37) with 1 HR, 8 RBI, and 4 strikeouts.
So, while all of Canada complains that Moustakas' lead is unfair, the gap between the two players is slowly but surely diminishing. Sure, Donaldson has more home runs, but overall their numbers aren't that far apart. Donaldson: .298/.358/.540 Moustakas: .327/.379/.468 Combine that with the star power he earned during the postseason last year, and I have no problem voting for Moustakas. |

Moustakas fWAR: 2.2 So, if you're fine voting for Moustakas over Donaldson you are equally OK with voting Luis Valbuena in over Moustakas? |

If this world were just, Donaldson should have been voted to start in the 2014 ALDS, 2014 ALCS and 2014 World Series ahead of Moustakas.
I mean they both started in the 2014 AL Wild Card game, did they not? Can somebody explain this? |
