That's what Chiefs "potential" means when you trot out a hapless, scared ass, slapdick of a QB against teams that know how to value the position.

"Potential". ROFL

We had our best season since 2003 and you dipshits act like we are the Cleveland Browns or something. The dumbassery on this site is stunning.

Only rubes think that was our best season since 2016.

The team regressed in almost every way, sans ST returns.

We swept the AFC West. Have we ever done that before? And while we were riddled with injuries.

I guess you are quantifying that by winning the AFCW and sweeping the division. Those are good things but this was not our best season since 2003. We had timely turnovers and ST plays that propelled us to those achievements. Those are also not things that can be counted on either. This was our 2cd if not worst offensive season since Reid got here.
We were like the cardiac Chiefs. We were not dominant.

There are a number of teams that could really use an Alex Smith bridge right now, truly. The Chiefs are not one of them. Plain and simple.

They have Peters, Jones, Ford, Houston, Hill, Kelce, etc. all at relatively young to very young ages right now.... beating a dead horse here, but the time is now to insert the young QB and take several stabs at a SB while you have the core together, and hopefully continue to add similar pieces.

"You know Marty, I've never seen anyone sweep the AFC West like that before. Can we talk contract extension?"

They will need a young cheap QB if they are gonna pay Poe, Berry, and next year Fords contract will be up. Personally I'd let Ford walk.

I'm over Poe to be honest. I expect him to be gone, signing a deal for 7-9 million a year, and that will be just fine. It really isn't all his fault, I think the back has been an issue for awhile now. But the production and dominance hasn't been there since 2014 IMO. Plug Howard in at NT for a year or draft a replacement, though I don't know if any would be better in 2017 than Howard.

Ford will almost certainly get his 5th-year option extended for 2018. I'm good with that. He really showed some consistency there before his hamstring injury. He fell off after that a little, but they've got some time to let him prove worthy of the long term deal.

Yeah we're one step up from Cleveland.
