Mac Jones had 23 td's last season. Lawrence has 24 currently. He's had a decent month or so but teams will adapt just like they did to Lamar after his mvp season. I mean just the other day the mighty Lions kept him to 179 yards and one td in a blowout loss so folks need to relax a little.

Trevor is a much better overall athlete than Jones, with a much better arm. What he lacks is weapons, and this is his first year with Pederson. Trevor's issues aren't physical, they're mental. Pederson can mitigate a lot of that as he did with Wentz and Foles.

I think his stats will come next season, and the AFC South looks to be pretty weak again next season.

Um Mac Jones blows and throws all his passes under ten yards. Just the eye test alone should tell you everything.

I can't see Chiefs beating anyone easily w way the defense is playing right now.

Looking like Pedersen was a good hire down there.

I heard somewhere (maybe here) that it’s kind of weird how he went from the toast of the town after winning the bowl with a backup qb to on the outs with a weird year with an obviously mentally broken qb.

Good hire. Good for Pedersen. I hope they never give us trouble.

Another first overall pick, Jared Goff, in his second year had 3800 yards, 28 td's and just 7 picks. The year after he had 4600 yards, 32 td's and 12 picks which took the Rams to the superbowl. And this year guess what? Goff's numbers are virtually the exact same as Lawrence (he has one less TD but more yards and a better qbr) so all I'm saying is people are desperate for Lawrence to become some "qb god" so they can be proven right about their dumb expectations of him from college..but he's not doing anything right now that average qb's today haven't done already. Hell Carson Wentz was way better his second year than Lawrence is right now imo. And his numbers last season are comparable to Lawrence's this year. Lawrence is doing well..I just think he has much more to prove.

Lol, I've never said Trevor could be elite, just better than most. Say somewhere between 10th and 15th. It's only his first year in a new system with Pederson, and he literally has almost no one to throw to, but as you say, he's already playing about as well as two guys that went to the SB.

Went to the superbowl then got exposed for what they REALLY were :thumb:

Yep.

Guess which QB had the most yards and TDs in Jaguars history.

Blake Bortles in 2015. The year before Coughlin cut his nuts off and the team almost went to the Super Bowl.

And it wasn’t like Bortles was extreme up and down like Jameis Winston that year. It was only 18 INTs. Sure that’s high, but Mr. Ball Security Alex Smith had one or two seasons with us with 10 INTs. If one of the best QBs at ball security throws 10, is it the worst thing ever if a QB has 18 in his 2nd year as a pro?

O.city 12-23-2022 10:11 AM

Man, he's really coming on strong. Playing well.

Jacksonville could win a playoff game if they make it.

BigCatDaddy 12-23-2022 10:16 AM

He doesn't suck but is far from Geno Smith.

Sucks for him being blocked by Mahomes, Burrow and Allen from ever seeing a Pro bowl barring injury.

He was a #1 overall pick. I don't think this is noteworthy given the context.

Everyone knew he had the talent.

duncan_idaho 12-23-2022 10:33 AM

I still think if you pair Lawrence with a premium pass catcher, he can be in the elite territory. The arm and accuracy are there.

I don't think he ever hits Mahomes or Burrow or Allen levels (at least unless/until one gets hurt), but pair him with a playmaker on the ouside and I think he has another notch above this one.

Quentin Johnston seems ready-made to be that guy, to me.
