Controversy sells. It also boosts stock price.

Last September, Nike aligned with Colin Kaepernick. The naysayers predicted a cratering of the company’s stock price. And instead it went up.

Earlier this week, Kaepernick persuaded Nike to not proceed with a shoe that would have included the Betsy Ross flag, a symbol that is regarded by some as too strong of a link to America’s history of slavery. The naysayers once again predicted a cratering of the company’s stock prices. And, once again, it went up.

As noted by TMZ.com, Nike’s stock closed Friday at $86.62, a two-percent increase since Tuesday. The bump in stock price added $3 billion in value to the company.

I wish Kaepernick would raise a little protest against hard red winter wheat, as the price sucks right now!

It has to be something that goes against the “man.”

What is excessive? How is this at the expense of Americans? Did the taxpayer pay for the making of the shoes? I'm not really following your reasoning.

Well his representation for your cause can be bought. I hear it is quite expensive though

Kaep has accomplished one thing. He'll never be selected to be host, marshall, starter or anything connected to the Coca Cola 400 in Daytona.

He's offended by the USA original flag, well if it wasn't for the original flag, he would of never been in America. His ass would still be in Africa. Too bad his ancestors picked cotton so he could get a free education and make millions from the NFL and Nike. I have over $1500 in Nike clothing and shoes but since they picked him for man of the year, I have not bought one item of Nike. I own New Balance and Under Armour shoes and UA shirts.

When did Colin Kaepernick live in Africa?

Be nice if he lived there now. Get back to his roots.

Sadly it won't. He's laughing all the way to the bank for being willing to stir things up in the world of SJWism, and Nike uses those sheep to keep theor profits high.

Kaep knows his role...

Oh shit, Colin Cowardnick is going to go the **** off. It's a flag... It's American... It's from a war...

New York (AFP) – Sports giant Nike reported a surprise loss Thursday as shutdowns due to COVID-19 prompted a big drop in revenues in spite of higher online sales. Nike reported a loss of $790 million in the quarter ending May 31, which translated to a loss of 51 cents per share compared with analyst expectations for nine cents per share in profit. Revenues tumbled 38 percent to $6.3 billion following huge declines in sales in most of the world. In North America, the company’s biggest operating region, revenues plunged 46 percent to $2.2 billion.
