McKinnon seemed good with our OLine. He’s fast af and can catch. I just don’t understand why we’re not signing this dude to a cheaper multi year deal…. Not sure if I’m a fan of all these 1 year deals. Is there a reason Burt is offering all these guys 1 year deals again?

So you can pick and choose which guys you want to bring back next year, and don't have any dead cap?

Looks like another incentive laden deal.

2022 cap hit - $1.5 million
Base salary - $1.25 million
Bonus - $250k
Guaranteed salary - $750k

LMAO

People really need to learn to wait for the details on these contracts.

I'd be interested to see how Jones fits in this offense and how well the RB coaches can coach him up. 2023 would be CEH's last year before his fifth year option comes up.

I could see him gone next year if he doesn't perform or gets injured again.

Why is he so cheap? He seemed pretty productive. The only disappointment is he doesn't really have much pass catching ability - same as CEH. Would have preferred McKinnon even though he's getting up there in age.

Hoover 03-31-2022 10:33 AM

There is NO WAY I take on CEH 5th year option. Hard pass.

BWillie 03-31-2022 10:36 AM

CEH career YPC 4.4

Ronald Jones career YPC 4.5

Not much receiving yards for either one of them. Pretty similar guys.

It sounds like his pass protection is the big issue. If he can't improve that then I doubt he's around for long or used that much. I think he's an odd pick up unless they're looking to run it a lot more as it seems like he's pretty much limited to that.

Wisconsin_Chief 03-31-2022 01:00 PM

Veach is freaking killing it with these 1 year, incentive laden deals. Players are willing to accept them here because they know they actually have a shot at hitting the numbers.

So between Jones and Smith-Schuster, you have a cap hit of like ~$4 million for two guys who will both play significant roles this year. That's just goddamn absurd.

chiefforlife 03-31-2022 04:17 PM

I see ROJO as everything CEH is not.

If we want to line up, show run AND just run it! Rojo is going to get positive yards. Thats his role and he will be good at it. Goal line/ short yardage as well.

CEH will be the third down back, pass blocking and finally start catching some passes out of the backfield.

A true 1 2 Punch. Not Thunder and Lightening mind you, but at least two completely different backs designed to do different things.

Will it be a tell for the Defense, yes. But it wont matter.

Red Dawg 03-31-2022 04:27 PM

I like Rojo. He's better than CEH period.

This won’t be the popular opinion around here, but talent wise you’re 100% correct.

I’ll be interested to see if Reid actually gives him a fair shot. If he does it will be apparent very quickly that he’s the superior player.

Red Dawg 03-31-2022 05:25 PM

Andy has the OL to run the ball. Jones is a more talented tougher RB than he's had. The long ball ooffense needs to be pulled back some and run the ball more. We don't have a defense than can be trusted.
