****. That.

If the league is going to overlook it for literally every single other player in football, no - I'm 100% not okay with "we need to fix it..." and be held to a different standard than every other football team in the league.

It's quite insane how many people are just willing to bend over and take it from the league.

Right?

Clark gets suspended for carrying automatic weapons and folks scream bloody murder. Gay gets suspended for scaring this shit out of his girlfriend and everyone's mad because "he just broke a vacuum!"

Taylor lines up - maybe - a half foot deeper than the rule (which is never enforced) says he should and "well why can't the guy just follow the damn rules!!!"

Huh? What's going on here?

And from what it looks like....the dude has adjusted to what the league wants him to do. Now they're just calling ticky tack bullshit in an attempt to punish him and the Chiefs. If I'm the Chiefs, I'm having someone watch the other team's tackles every play and scream at the refs when they don't call it.

In Virus's case, I think it's just the typical contrarian bullshit from him.

People like Run though? I have no ****ing clue.

Exactly. At this point is has nothing to do with fair play - it's purely punitive bullshit.

"You made us look bad on opening night - we're gonna **** you till you love us..."

Andy saying what he's saying tells ya all you need to know. They're upset about it, I'd guess some chains being rattled behind the scenes.

You guys and these avi’s are killing me. Keep thinking you’re talking with yourself!

Right.

If Reid and Mahomes are saying things publicly, it's legit.

Ask yourself this - who has a better feel of what's going on out there than Patrick Mahomes? Who, anywhere in the world, has a better angle to see if Taylor is lining up correctly? And who's more prone to post-game nothingburger coach speak than Mahomes?

If Mahomes is coming out of that game and saying "Man, this is wild..." then yeah, it's a ****ing problem.

Why is the NFL too stupid to take out any kind of judgement things out of the rule book. Why is it lined up with the centers waist line and not the tackle can line up one yard behind the line of scrimmage.

The margins in this league are so incredibly small that if you're NOT pushing it to the absolute limit of legal, you're starting every snap at a disadvantage.

I don’t think you can hold these two conflicting opinions, though. At some point they do have to draw the line.

Jawaan seems to follow your philosophy and I think that’s the major issue- he took it too far. He was rocking back and forth, getting early starts AND lining up illegally. Dude was pushing it to the absolute limit on multiple fronts. Unfortunately he did all of that in a huge week 1 matchup in front of a huge audience and now they’ve probably decided to make an example of him.

JFC you're being so ****ing stupid about this it is unbelievable.

Again, it was fine week 1, and even week 2, but he's adjusted since, and yet he's clearly still being targeted to the point that they're throwing flags simply because it's him.

And you think everybody is just supposed to shut up and take the unfair treatment in comaprison to literally every other team in the NFL? Taylor has to essentially play with a different set of rules than all of the other OTs in the league?

If that is somehow acceptable in your league, you won't have one for much loner.

staylor26 09-26-2023 10:08 AM

'Making an example out of him" typically implies that it will no longer be tolerated from anybody.

They aren't "making an example out of him". They're targeting him and only him.

Jawaan is bad and we should all pay more taxes!
