Seattle just made the Poe pick look good.

SPchief 04-26-2012 07:31 PM

Good job Pete

tk13 04-26-2012 07:31 PM

I was just about to say... I'm surprised no one has reached for a pass rusher yet.

dirk digler 04-26-2012 07:31 PM

The ****ing Jets are going to get Ingram.

sedated 04-26-2012 07:31 PM

I've never watched a draft and wished we'd taken any pick after us.

DeezNutz 04-26-2012 07:32 PM

I would have gladly taken DeCastro over Poe since Hudson is moving to C. We could have taken a comparable NT in round 2.

SPchief 04-26-2012 07:32 PM

Who will they boo?

I expect him to play both...Jerrell Powe working in and we'll likely sign a vet NT aswell.

kcpasco 04-26-2012 07:32 PM

Bruce Irvin

Now that's a ****ing reach people. Poe was the best NT available.

tk13 04-26-2012 07:32 PM

It's crazy but I kind of like it. Pass rushers should be evaluated at 1B behind the QB in today's NFL. The Giants have made a living doing it.

Setsuna 04-26-2012 07:32 PM

How does Ingram fall to the Jets? That's terrible. Though they might get Coples.

Instead we threw away the pick on Vernon Gholston part 2.

Moore. He's a winner.

I was definitely not mocking the attempts to justify the high risk-high reward nature of the pick, which is not at all connected to countless discussions of QBs on this board. But since Poe is a DT, it's different.

That's true, it's possible Pioli felt a team like Seattle would take Poe and didn't wanna move, who knows.

I think the pick is basically an incomplete and bear heavily on the coaching staff.

How many nose tackles have been drafted in the first round with less college production than Poe?

He is. I watched Baldwin quite a bit in college and he's every bit as good as Floyd with much shittier QBs and surrounding talent, which makes him better IMO. Plus he doesn't have Floyd's injury history.
