Did that Avs player give a guy a kidney shot as that tussle was unfolding?
I appreciated the cheering of those Lightning fans, even if I'm by default rooting for the Avs. I can appreciate excellence when I see it.
Now the Tampa guy gave the Avs player a solar plexus shot after the play. Hockey is fun to watch other that the stuff with the puck.
The puck spends a lot of time on the wall, and that's boring. They should make the wall have an opening like a pinball machine, where the puck goes in and then gets shot out at high speed in a random direction.
Touchdown Avalanche!
That Tampa guy broke his stick. Now he's going to have to play the rest of the game with half a stick.
Man. Feels like forever since the Avs had a lead.
Bang-a-rang! Avs lead!
For shame Rainman. Rooting gif Colorado teams is no bueno

Tampa would have scored there if that Avs player with all of the padding hadn't been standing in the way.

And HE was mad after he tried slashing the guy's leg off and the Avalanche defender got his skate in the way. |

They should have the regular goal and then a little goal that's maybe a foot wide inside it, where you get three points.
I just looked it up. Hockey has three periods, so we're two-thirds of the way through the game.
(Just in case other hockey novices are watching.) |

COL forechecking insane this period.
Colorado has their running game going strong to run down the clock.
That Tampa player nailed the goalie with the puck.
How long can a player hold the puck if he grabs it mid-air? He should just carry it to the goal, but I bet that's not legal.
We're 11/12ths of the way through the game now.
I'm no expert, but it seems like Tampa has no chance of winning unless they actually take a shot on goal at some point.
Two-minute warning.
We're 98 percent of the way through the game now.
Tampa needs to start using their timeouts if hockey has timeouts.
Colorado just won.
Congrats AVS fans!
Bronco fans celebrate.
It's difficult to see people in a state where donkey fans reside being happy but congrats. AVs fans your team was better the lightning looked old and tired.
Man, it's been a long time.... and a long time coming for some of these guys.
I forgot Stan Kroenke would be there.
Man, **** this.... |

This has become a championship beer in recent years.
Started by putting one in the fridge for the Chiefs' first SB. And then Kansas' NC. And now tonight. https://i.imgur.com/6Dig2Sr.jpg |

They are not a cool, Brady come to my team so I’ll be a fan thing. Kind of weird a hot weather hockey team has a loyal fan base. We took an Arrowhead South group there in a down year before the championships. They were passionate. Outside of the arena they had a lot of fan friendly amenities and activities. Us football fans were impressed. |
Stan Kroenke is a champion. A win for sports.

Wanted this series last season and it was worth the wait... best Finals in years (but might be a bit biased).

I'm behind because I replayed the last 10 seconds about 200 times, but good gravy, Nate's little hottie is a smoke show of epic proportions. :hump: My jaw is on the floor. Very, very well done on that one. :bravo:

Very happy for Jared Bednar. Extremely underrated. Really challenged the core of this team to work as hard on defense as they do on offense over the last couple years, and it paid off. They absolutely shut Tampa down in the 3rd. Hope he finally gets the credit he deserves, he's one of the best in the league.

Any offense-first team has to prove they can win in the playoffs, and especially deep in the playoffs where you simply have to score 5 on 5 and have some grit and win grinding 2-1/3-2 types of games. They won those games against the Blues, they won the 8-6 insanity types of games against the Oilers, and beat the best team in the league over the past few years at scoring a couple goals and holding a lead. Sakic never panicked either, just plugged in some holes along the way that ended up making a huge difference when they needed the depth. |

They're just lucky Binnington got hurt or they would have been knocked out by the Blues.
Kroenke is a helluva owner.

How the hell can you guys root for a team from Denver?

Scrolling Twitter and reddit today is a lot of fun. I literally LOL'ed at this one:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Good morning from <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/StanleyCup?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#StanleyCup</a> champion Erik Johnson <br><br>(via <a href="https://twitter.com/6ErikJohnson?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@6ErikJohnson</a> | <a href="https://twitter.com/Avalanche?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@Avalanche</a>) <a href="https://t.co/5KQgTRsCzW">pic.twitter.com/5KQgTRsCzW</a></p>— ESPN (@espn) <a href="https://twitter.com/espn/status/1541440763724288005?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 27, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> I'm so happy for EJ. He's been one of my favorite guys for years, but I thought he was probably done after last season. So awesome to see him hoist the cup after all these years. |

Congrats on the victory. But **** off Stan Kroenke. |

Pretty crazy to think for the first half of my life, sports kind of sucked across the board, then the next decade was the Avalanche 2001 Cup and KU's 2008 NC (and a couple Final Fours)... then another 6 years and bam, 2014/2015 Royals, 4 straight AFCCGs and a SB win, and now a KU NC and Avalanche Cup in a matter of 3 months. |

These guys got some great candid moments... the Kadri 'kiss my ass' and just before that MacKinnon saying "I was the drunkest guy at his Cup parties, so he better be the drunkest guy at mine" LMAO
(and their play by play is probably far better) <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/haIts0VVQ8U" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Last 2 videos were awesome, thanks.
One thing that always gets me regarding hockey playoffs, which that last video really highlights.. These guys can get so angry and shove and punch and smash each other in the face for months worth of games. But yet almost 100% of the time, after the game when they get to the teams lining up and shaking hands, everyone is super respectful and polite. Lots of respect that you do no see in other sports. Hockey rules. |

They should forget that stupid tradition and grow up. If two guys were just hitting each other in the face can shake hands after a game, your teams can too. |
This is pretty cute. Hope they thoroughly disinfected it first. ROFL
