The NFL fully understands leverage, but there is a big difference between a fellow offensive player (acting as a blocking dummy), letting you get perfect hand position and leverage, compared with live action, where defenders with paychecks on the line are moving fast, fighting back and using their own leverage techniques. Also, leverage is important, but it's just one factor. That's why over the last 40 years the NFL emphasized height and length on the lines over guys that can more easily get leverage. Orlando Brown will rarely be able to get leverage but he's so damn big he can basically swallow up DE's even if they have leverage over him. Chris Jones is usually not going to have great leverage, but he's 6'6" with an NBA reach, which allows him to beat guys in other ways. |

Somebody blew their assignment here against Chris Jones. I hope we don't see that during the regular season from our OL. |

The issue is whether Armani Watts can do the job. Or whoever we would have fill in that role as the 3rd safety. And if we're replacing Sorensen with one of those guys, they better be just as good or an improvement over Sorensen. It's possible. Dan's made some great plays for us over the years, but he's totally replaceable. And yet the Chiefs still haven't found that guy who can do what he does. So go find that guy, let me know, and I'll contact Veach on Facebook to tell him he needs to go get that guy. Then Dan Sorensen is as good as gone. |

Reacting to one blown assignment in TC as if it can be cause for concern is the definition of “overblowing”. And expecting nobody to blow an assignment for the entire season is unrealistic. Forgive me for pointing that out. |

Training camp is for finding out and fixing any issues. You can take things however you want. I am not concerned and no I don't want to see that in the regular season. NO ONE DOES. So now you also "lied" with your statement about just giving me shit also. Everyone around here on this site has seen you continue to act this way towards poster after poster. Who appointed you the ultimate defender homer of all things Chiefs? It seems as though you think it is your solemn duty or something. Either way, you need to stop. It is not becoming and is not accurate. You are constantly trying to read things into peoples posts that were just not there. |

Also, I didn’t “lie” about anything. I was giving you shit with my sarcasm, but yes I thought your take from one play was pretty dumb too. I chose sarcasm as opposed to just calling it what it was. Next time I’ll just call you an idiot! |

Every player in madden I ever created was a badass MLB with #54. I ****ing LOVE good linebacker play more than anything else on defense. I also love how much the MU fans love the guy. What a great story. It must be so fun to have a badass guy from your college and he doesn’t go to Denver. Sigh… |

Rookie of the Year (Chiefs): I like Trey Smith, but I'm going to go with a skill position: Noah Gray Surprise Player No One is Talking About: DeAndre Baker Bounce back Player: Juan Thornhill, although I could put Baker here as well. New Star: Hardman. This is year 3. Someone needs to step up to replace Watkins. If he fails to do it, he's done |
It would be pretty hard for Creed to be a star. I can't name one center in the league who is a star.

Most Improved Second Year Player: CEH goes off behind the revamped OLine.
Rookie of the Year (Chiefs): Creed Humphrey Surprise Player No One is Talking About: Frank Clark - added some weight and I think he’s motivated after the drama. Bounce back Player: Mike Hughes - former 1st rounder feeling healthy New Star: Willie Gay |
Quote:
After the drama? |
Baker and Hughes kind of seem forgotten....but they were both former 1st round picks...and are still young.
If just one of them is decent...that's a good get. If they are both are decent...KC could have a really nice secondary with depth. |
