To Donte asking for anything missing on potential crimes. I have a some what lengthy response and something to think about at this point in time.

Are we missing anything, YES! Establishment Rice was there and was one of the five men somehow involved.

I’ve been following this for over 24 hours now as I am heavily involved (on a personal level) with the SMU/Chiefs Teams. What I’ve watch “unfold” has been a large group of adults playing telephone.

From what has been provided to the general public this is what we can establish.
- rices car was involved.
There is almost 100% consensus he is not the person in the orange shirt getting out of the car- which leads me back to just looking at this from the very beginning

Is it a fact the corvette (which is fact belongs to rice whether leased or purchased) was engaged in reckless driving? No

Watch the dash cam footage at .25x speed. At best the worst critique that can be giving is the corvette was tailing the car in front of him. The dash cam does not show the corvette engaged in reckless driving. However, it does show the corvette reacting to reckless driving from the lambo. The lambo driving and trying to pass any vehicle from the shoulder is unhinged and absolutely proof of reckless driving. Again, the dash cam shows the corvette reacting to the lambo, and everything falls like dominos after. That is a fact.

It is fact the men from the lambo and corvette knew each other as they are seen from another video all walking away together. It is a fact there were five men in total between the two vehicles.

What is not fact? That rashee is one of these five men.

My goodness- there is hundreds of replies on this forum, Reddit, X, and the likes. Following for over 24 hours I can say we cannot factually place rice here as one of these five men. Look at this thread. There is no general consensus. Popular beliefs are the guy in grey shorts or the guy in the red durag…. There is no argument he was in the orange shirt therefore driving his own car. So I will jump to conclusion that it’s a fact rice was not driving his own car.

Now for the four other men. It is not a fact he is one of those four. Only speculation. I read on another forum that the lambo had been rented. Which is interesting. Which does actually make me pause for a hot second and wonder if rice also lent his car (can’t see him renting his car out). I did ask for a source on the lambo being rented and haven’t been provided w one, so I’m not going to say that is a fact. Still interesting in the larger context. It’s a family holiday weekend. Someone could have easily come into town and borrowed rices car for the weekend… why else was this lambo “rented?” If that is a fact I wonder more about holiday weekend and visitors needing access to a vehicle.

So again to answer the question, “is there anything missing?” Yes, establishing rice is even one of these five men.

Everything regarding alcohol, drugs, guns, etc is all speculation. I’m definitely not on board with the gun speculation coming from a woman who was involved and the presumption (and racists) comment on them having stolen these vehicles because they couldn’t afford them.

That’s another fact. Rice can afford a corvette.

Some of these assumptions being echoed all day have really snow balled. Don’t even tell me that little brief case was holding a bunch of guns. The guy gets out of the lambo w it like a ladies purse. I’m taking zero facts from that video other than the evidence of 5 men walking away.

I’m not on the innocent until proven guilty train, I’m just on the train of until it’s 100% factual rice has yet to be identified as one of the five men for these potential crimes.

More fact than speculation, we can guarantee he won’t be in a line up for State Farm insurance!

TDLR: not fact as this point in time rice was there- nor actual evidence the corvette was engaged in reckless driving.

Please do not come for me in the sense of “why hasn’t he turned himself in”… I’m just saying I’ve watched this unfold all last night and today and there has yet to be a hard cold photo that is factual placing him at the scene of this crime. That is all.

Who is Donte?

We get it. You're a Broncos fan and you want maximum punishments instantaneously without trials. However, there is a huge difference between what could happen and what is likely to happen and it will take quite a while to sort out the particulars, so cool your jets a bit.

Say nothing. Get your plea, probably do some community service and pay a fine. Maybe miss a few games in September.

Crazy to me how this has blown up.

^this^ as I said before, Rice got really really lucky this wasn't worse for him or the other folks involved. Rice could have easily not played football again if the original spinout happened fractional sections before or after. The other folks involved could have been seriously injured if it happened slightly different. Chiefs fans are lucky that this avoided serious injuries for all, that he isn't charged with guns or DUI, and that this happened in the down time of the NFL. Rashee should consider himself extremely fortunate and this should be a wake up call for a 22 year old making poor decisions. If not, he's a reerun.

The Lions guy who committed domestic violence didn't turn himself until recently - it took him over a month to do so.

I didn't say or infer anything like that. All those ideas are trapped on the 8-in space between your ears. Hit and run in Texas is a felony. Punishable from 1 to 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine and that's if no one was injured. He's got money so he and or his insurance company is definitely going to get sued. That's the civil trial part.

LMAO

Let's assume worst case scenario - Rice was drunk out of his mind and driving the Lamborghini which caused the wreck, then fled the scene. That might be like the 200th worst thing an active Chiefs player has done during your lifelong fandom.

Your story has been all over the place... again, it was obvious no one seriously hurt as soon as the accident was over just based on the damage of cars, that doesn't excuse him leaving, but a 22 year old is going to make some super dumb decisions, especially if they had smoked some dope prior. So put up or shut up with your information or go be a Broncos fan.

Hopefully someone connected who will get tipped off by the police and/or prosecutors as to the evidence against Rice.

The Hunts are from Dallas. This is a good thing in this situation.

Rashee Rice's lawyer, Matthew Merryman has released a statement:

“Today was a big day for Rashee Rice. From the beginning of this case the Government has been double-coveraging. And Rashee’s routes were covered and intercepted” Merryman said. “But today Rashee stepped up into the pressure and took responsibility for his actions. If I know anything about Rashee Rice and if the Chiefs Kingdom knows anything about Rashee, it’s that even when Rashee was under pressure and he stumbled and fell, he did not let his knee touch the ground, because he knows there is still hope.”

“Today Rashee stood humble and repentant before the eyes of the Court and the eyes of the Chiefs Kingdom,” Merryman added. “Rashee loves the Chiefs Kingdom, he loves his family, and he loves Kansas City. He only hopes that you will all rally to his support.”

Right. You immediately jump to the worst possible consequences. Have you not paid any attention at all to how our criminal justice system operates? The state has to give due process and prove their case in front of a jury. Districts Attorney have neither the time nor the inclination to prosecute every case in court. This is particularly true when their evidence is weak and they have reduced chances of obtaining a conviction. Hence, they engage in plea bargains. This case will almost certainly be plea-bargained down to a much more minor charge that will result in no jail time at all.

TLO 04-01-2024 08:22 AM

Matthew Merryman, the lawyer representing Xaviar Babudar, an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan known as “ChiefsAholic,” made an interesting choice when addressing the media on Wednesday.

After Babudar pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to counts of bank robbery, money laundering and transporting stolen property across state lines, Merryman used football references while speaking on behalf of his client.

“From the beginning of this case, folks, the government has been blitzing. And Xavier’s pocket was collapsing,” Merryman said. “But today, Xavier has stepped into the pressure. He took responsibility for his actions.

“... If I know anything about Xavier, and if the Chiefs Kingdom knows anything about ChiefsAholic, we know that he doesn’t give up. We know that if he stumbled, and he fell, he didn’t let his knee touch the ground.”

I disagree when you say it was far from a fender bender. It looked kind of scary and it definitely could have been far far worse, but in the end it was just a car wreck where several cars got damaged and, unless I'm mistaken, nobody was seriously hurt. Though it could have been much worse, the result was basically a fender bender.

We are basically saying the same thing. I visualize a fender bender happening at low speed in a city where someone changes lanes. This could have been way worse than that, but wasn't. As I said in other post, it was obvious that no one was seriously hurt as soon as the accident was over based on the cars involved.

Yep. This is just another case where we have a poorly defined term like "fender bender" and we just see it in different ways.

I believe we can all agree that the accident was due to gross negligence as they really didn't care what danger they were presenting to everyone else and that their negligence resulted in an accident. However, the results of that negligence were pretty minor, all things considered. They are extremely lucky that the results weren't far worse.

Should be a misdemeanor B violation - leaving the scene in an accident with no major injuries. Felony comes in when there are major injuries which appears not to be the case - up to 2K fine and up to 180 days jail time. But with clean record most likely the fine and probation or diversion. Also there is the reckless driving charge. The first driver looks at fault as he hit the car ahead of him. The second car was a victim of the accident. Not sure which care Rashee was in?

Hoping for the best including no suspension

How did you manage to get 10k likes from him when you only have 2,135 posts?

That would involve a lot of copy and pasting on my phone. It's much harder to fake a spreadsheet when you're away from the computer.

Because it’s an obvious joke.

Been out of the loop, wtf. Sigh. I got a lot of catching up to do. Anyone kind enough to give me a synopsis of this thread real fast?

We're still trying to figure out which one of the guys is Rice....or if he was even there.

Dante and DJ had some good back and forth about legal shit. I think it was a page or two back. The rest of it has been garbage.

We don't know a damn thing other than he was there and a car was registered in his name.

Internet does what it always does.

Slow-ass bitches need to get the **** out of Rashee Rice's way when he decides to put the pedal to the metal. The end.

trying to figure out which one was the driver

mainly just speculating, but some people are convinced 100% that:

1) doo rag guy is Rice

2) Greyshorts the Innocent is NOT Rice

3) orange guy was driving Rice's Vette

4) based on #3 Rice could not be driving the Vette

5) doo Rag guy was driving the Lambo

I want to believe Rice wasn't driving so I am rejecting #1. I accept #3 and #4. I also reject #4 until it is proven 100% and even then im not accepting doo-rag guy is Rice until I am forced.

I really hope Rice is Greyshorts the innocent but I am probably just wishful thinking. The people accepting #2 are probably right but I am holding out hope on the 1%.

Eh - I would.

That's a LOT of car for the money. The new 'vette is pretty tits. And for less than 6 figures you can hang with a $400K lambo.

Shit, now that I think about it, he'd be irresponsible NOT to do it.

I've had you pegged for being reeruned for a while now. I don't remember exactly what sparked it and I can't be bothered to check but the fact that you've failed to detect my obviously tongue-in-cheek posts multiple times means I don't need go back to verify your stupidity.
