It’s inconceivable that we are up 14-0 with as bad as we’ve been.

I’ll take that as a good thing. Couldn’t imagine trying to get up for the Browns with the 3 game stretch we have coming up.

KC_Connection 12-15-2024 01:37 PM

Kicking the FG is clearly the correct play there to go up 3 scores. You'd expect one of the best kickers in league history to be able to make a 29 yarder. Both that and the fact he's not doing kickoffs is concerning. Not sure why they rushed him back for a meaningless game.

A 3 score lead was a good decision. Butker missing wasn't expected but it's good to get him some work. The defense has shut these guys down and the offense, while erratic, has played ok.

Just get through this game with a win and get ready for 2 more quick ones.

That too. I've never seen a kicker screaming at the sidelines before a kick. Those guys are usually in a zone before kicking.

That's a fair and good take. Then perhaps if anything, Andy should have been criticized for not taking a time out here to get everything settled and lined up.

Hey, blame the kicker for not doing his job. Especially the one that was pretty damn near automatic.

This isn't on Andy. This one is on Butker for missing a chip-shot FG.

They shouldn’t need to have to get up for the Browns.

They should get up for the fact that they are close to locking down the #1 seed.

One less playoff game should be MORE than enough motivation.

I wouldn't make too much out of the Butker miss. His plant foot slipped. Not to mention, it looked ****ed up from the get go without initially having your snapper and holder on the field. Shit happens

I think it's more a defensive thing. I remember they were considering having Reid do kick-offs to have an extra good tackler in with the rules change.

I don't think it's about the kicking, really.

Not dooming at all, quite the opposite. They couldn’t give two shits and are up 14-0 and have basically done whatever they wanted while running the most vanilla offense and defense imaginable.

They SHOULD be very motivated for this game. Win the next two and they likely can sit starters in the last two. Plus, the last two games will be difficult.

At least the D appears motivated. 74 yds allowed.

Maybe just making sure he doesn’t get involved in any contact?

I actually wouldn’t hate having a DB or similar perform kickoffs with the new kick return rules, but not a change to that midseason. That HAS to be an all offseason plan and preferably a DB that doesn’t play all that much. Can’t risk losing an important player on a kickoff or losing your kickoff specialist playing defense.

TLO 12-15-2024 01:42 PM

Too much risk for this game. 17-0 feels like a huge lead the way the defense is playing.

If they don't convert, that's a bigger shot in the arm then missi g a field goal the missed field goal feels like we screwed up and Cleveland dodge one. They get a stop on 4th, they did it and feel better about the game. Just don't give them any hope.

That said, the game doesn't feel like it matters either way. Just don't sleep walk too much through the 2nd half.

RunKC 12-15-2024 01:43 PM

The 3rd quarter has by far been the worst quarter for the Chiefs this year. Every lead we had evaporated that quarter.

Please show some improvement Chiefs

Wallcrawler 12-15-2024 01:43 PM

Not much to adjust to, just keep an eye on Jeudy and we're in great shape for another second half house of horrors constructed by Spags for their offense to run through. Winston has already thrown 2 gimme ints, I'm not sure if Nazee just dropped the easy one or made the better play to just drop it on 4th down.

Karlaftis is terrorizing Winston pretty regularly as well.

Winston is a roller coaster guy. He gave a 21-point swing to Denver on turnovers, but he also threw for 500 yards and put 32 points on a pretty solid Denver defense. Would have been 39 points if he didn't throw the end zone interception.
