Through one week of training camp, it has become evident the Redskins’ 2013 draft picks for the secondary , cornerback David Amerson, free safety Bacarri Rambo and strong safety Phillip Thomas, will be used sooner rather than later — and possibly, immediately — in an attempt to improve last season’s 28th-ranked defense.

Rambo, a sixth-round pick out of Georgia, has taken every first-team snap at free safety.

An offensive linemen taken first overall should have HOF potential.

A guy that will be the best at his position or at least top 3 or 4 and no ****ing way should he take 3 or 4 years to get there.

When you spend the first overall pick in the draft to upgrade from a player like Eric Winston, the guy you draft needs to be a special player...NOT JUST ABOVE AVERAGE.

Don't dig yourself into a deeper hole by bringing up left tackle, either.

1st off Winston is not under contract and 2ndly he sucked. If you are happy with his play then you just lost all credibility as a poster.

Rookie inside linebacker Nico Johnson, the Chiefs’ fourth-round draft pick from Alabama, saw some action with the first-team defense on Sunday and is giving Akeem Jordan, a free agent from the Philadelphia Eagles, a battle for the spot next to Derrick Johnson in the base 3-4 front.

“It’s competitive; it’s an open position,” said defensive coordinator Bob Sutton. “We’re going to have to see how that plays out over the course of not only the pre-season (games) but the practices … any time you’re picking a starting player, you’re (counting) on dependability. You know this is what we’re going to get … this is what this guy is going to deliver. Whosever the most consistent player there is going to be the one who gets the job.”
