Winston went to the Cardinals, of all teams, just before training camps opened. He had months to visit other teams, yet there was no interest.

I was excited when the Chiefs signed him last spring to a $22 million dollar contract. But that excited quickly dissipated as I saw him commit penalties and open his trap.

Good riddance (although I'd rather see Stephenson at RT over Fisher).

Let me clarify.

I think Eric Fisher SHOULD be held to very high standards and I think he will be an elite offensive tackle in this league for a long time.

I just think we could have improved the team more than we did with that pick.

That's fair.

I don't disagree with much of that.

Again, the ONLY reason his name got brought up was because of the term "above average player" ...which Winston was.

How much above average he was is up for debate, but FFS the first overall pick in the draft should be better than just "above average"

Put 'em both together and you got a WINNAH.

BossChief 08-04-2013 09:07 PM

If we wanted to move on from Winston...fine.

Sign Tyson Clabo and let he and Stephenson compete for the job and draft Austin, Jordan, Milliner or Patterson...and that's if they were dead set on not taking a QB.

I agree and have said as much in this thread.

Expectations are and should be high for Eric Fisher.

I concur, as I said before because of the value of #1 overall pick he has to play at a very high level almost immediately since he was drafted to be a cornerstone "Franchise Tackle".
