Makes me think Veach agreed to trade with Washington and agreed to different scenarios and at that point info was leaked and that leak could have done damage to player GM relationships if a different scenario was finalized.

If they say it involves a player and then don’t end up agreeing on a new deal and it reverts to just picks, maybe that player never wants to sign with that team and irreparable harm has been done.

I know it’s a long shot, but I do think Aaron Donald is one of the options in this.

1) a package of picks for Peters
2) Peters and a pick for Donald
3) Joyner and a pick for Peters.

The only name reported was Quinn.

Literally none of these names has even been whispered.

Think about that. The Rams wouldn’t include an expensive 8.5 sack Quinn for an elite, controllable corner. There was no market.

He was suspended a few days later.

Didn't he tweet "LOL" a few minutes after the suspension was announced?

The trade being leaked. Marcus Peters is the headliner. Who gives a **** about draft picks being leaked?

In the end we will see who was the better person to keep: Sutton or Peters.

Mahomes is the much more important variable, so I'm glad the Chiefs finally addressed the MOST important position in sports.
If Mahomes is elite, the Chiefs can overcome Bob Suttons mental illness and some fill in at CB.

SAUTO 02-24-2018 12:31 PM

I would bet my nuts Donald is NOT involved

Sassy Squatch 02-24-2018 12:31 PM

Maybe I'm being irrational but this whole situation makes me feel worse than the Titans playoff loss. I kind of expected that shit to happen with Smith. Coming off of that we swing a trade for Smith that is almost better than any scenario we could come up with. Finally, we've got our secondary back on track. Maybe now we won't be burned so badly so many times because of the slapdicks we had playing CB on this roster. Maybe Sutton can redeem himself and get back to where he was a couple of years ago when we had on of the leagues best defenses. This is on top of the excitement I had for the Mahomes led offense.

Nope. We trade Peters. Now we've gone backwards and the CB group is worse than it was before. All the rationalizations for keeping Sutton go right out the window with this move, as well. This trade has deflated me from being truly excited about the future of the Chiefs for the first time in a LONG time all the way back to square one. Just disappointment and apathy. Sincerely, Hunt, Reid, and Veach; get ****ED.

Jesus I hadn't read that either.

I just can't buy the league told beat writers not to leak things when Schefter, Rapoport and all other national guys leak everything. I'll bet this gets out way before March 14th.

kcpasco 02-24-2018 12:32 PM

Yeah he’s a headcase but they knew that already when they drafted him.

Truth. The draft pick compensation isn't going to be the tipping point to piss the league off.

EXACTLY!!! People say Kelce did this, and Brady did that.........the thing is Peters did ALL OF THAT............plus refused to tackle. I'm happy he's gone!!!!!

O.city 02-24-2018 12:33 PM

No way Donald is involved

Maybe Quinn and he wants an extension or something

Sutton is a concern. He also was an issue for Peters but that doesn't mean it's the reason he is gone. Still if Sutton staying caused part of this it's annoying not because coaches should be fired because players don't like them ala the NBA. It's annoying cause Sutton should be gone for his track record and keeping him potentially compounded these issues. FYI this is no justification for Peters actions in any way.
