Does it happen without the umpires' help? I suppose we'll never know.

Yes, are you saying that Davis wasn't the best or one of the best relievers that year? You're also saying two strike calls decided the entire thing.

He was fantastic, hence my point above. He might have gotten them out anyway. Sadly, we'll never know and I am forced to bring up the umpires any time somebody tries to bring up that WS in response to something completely irrelevant.

It was so upsetting to someone bringing up the nature of that game in response to a flag that they had to change my name. LMAO

You managed to out-douche me and dphjh in this here thread.

I don't make a habit of reading this thread daily, but I highly doubt that given his and your reputation.

I still remember revere beating up that trash can. Imagine if he’d used half of that effort hitting one of those pitches…..

He probably still thinks about what would have happened had the count rightfully been 3-1 rather than 2-2. Definitely wakes up in cold sweats thinking about the call.

ChiefsFan63 09-19-2024 04:54 PM

He probably strikes out. Just as plausible as your view. It was 9 years ago. Let it go.

WilliamTheIrish 09-19-2024 04:57 PM

That name change LMAO

Maybe, we'll never know. I do know that hitting in a 3-1 count is statistically far easier than a 2-2 count and that didn't happen.

If you get to bring up that WS in response to any post about baseball I make that has nothing to do with it, I get to bitch about the umpires' wrongfully blowing a few calls in response. Seems fair enough to me.

Didn't make either of those calls in that location for the entire night. We all know what went down there.

That 2-1 strike call to Revere. Holy shit. The tweets from that night paint quite the picture, indeed.

Sorry for your loss, Dan.

Feels like the upset party could have done better. The "Fit" tacked on at the end isn't a great fit (for lack of a better word) and also ruins the alliteration aspect.

Looks like he was an Astros fan, so he's probably doing all right these days.

Yea, I think they could have left off the “fit”. Cause it’s naturally the word that follows. Still, one of the better name changes.
