Because he kneeled for the anthem?
Many NFL players are now a basket case.

I've done much worse things in my life.... guess I'm a basket case.

You must not have read all the details in this thread.

This is the first move Veach has made that seems like a mistake

If you can't see it, then no one is going to convince you otherwise. Football is the ultimate team sport and one or two players with negative attitudes can destroy the chemistry. Tom Brady screams, Travis Kelce taunts, others have knelled, but taking plays off and basically making it known you would prefer to be on another team is enough reason. The trade appears we will get a decent value for Peters. This thread will be interesting in 3 years. It will be brought back to life by either side if the trade pans out in ones favor dramatically mocking posts made by others.. or it will die as both sides mutually benefited.

I’m sticking to my theory that we know we didn’t get close to what anybody would hope for and that’s why it hasn’t leaked.

Yup.

This is a complete failure. They knew what they were getting, and assured us they could handle it.

Then they can’t.

It is absolute shit.

As good as Peters is on the field production wise for them to trade him it has to be bad

They wouldn’t do it on a whim

But wouldn't the Rams leak it then to show what a steal they got

Unless you know what goes on Monday through Saturday NONE of us have any idea what happens when the cameras are off.
It blows my mind that several posters on here are reacting to this trade as if they know everything/every reason taken into consideration.
I'd say eventually players and maybe coaches will talk and we'll get a better understanding. But it's not gonna happen right now.

I think it’s just not being leaked because the Chiefs FO doesn’t give a shit whether fans know.

There is no doubt we didn’t get the compensation we’d deserve, though. There was one team interested.

Not if the Chiefs had a handshake agreement for them not to.

If I’m giving you a great deal and all I ask is that you don’t leak it, wouldn’t you keep your mouth shut?

Im guessing this years 3rd and a mid round pick or two next year with contingency clauses attached to his behavior. Suspensions, etc

kcpasco 02-24-2018 12:39 PM

It’s smart to leak it if you are the team on the winning side of the trade. Now the Chiefs would look like assholes if they decided to back out.

Very possible. Perhaps trade him while he still has value. They gambled that he would change and didn't. I don't think it's unfair to put some blame on them for being wrong.

Not saying this organization needs a shake up because of this trade but acting like nobody had any control over this is wrong Imo. This seems like the absolute worst time to trade him. Either have foresight or wait. Hell, maybe I'm wrong. Idk.

This might have already been covered, but listening to the Terez/KC Star Emergency Podcast...

Terez had been asking league executives this week about potential compensation should Peters be dealt.

Best response? 3rd and a player. And some guys said they wouldn't even do that.

Wow, Peters reputation must really precede him around the league

When teams are turning up their noses, or making lowball offers for a perennial Pro Bowler... that says a LOT
