171 yards against Arkansas. 1-7-1.

You could literally have thrown out a 15 year old Madden player, had him coach the OL and call the plays, and gotten a better offensive result than that.

The infuriating part is that anyone with a brain could see early on this season that this team could not run the usual MIZZOU offense, yet there were ZERO visible adjustments.

There was one game this year where we actually attacked the middle of the field, and that was against BYU. Why we gave that up I have absolutely no clue, because when the defense doesn't have to worry about posts or slants and every run and pass is to the sideline, all the defense has to do is scoot up to the line and swarm the flats.

Henson really coached this team like he was trying to tank his job. I *know* that he wasn't, but there is nothing I can look at on the field that says he wasn't.

Bye Gary. Thanks for dropping an upper decker on your way out. Go have a couple jumbos and drive home. You've earned it.

Damn.... I'd say Henson is outta there

Re: the defense not being as good as thought... To me, it's not that it isn't good.

It's that they:
1) are missing a key member of the DT depth
2) are continually getting left out to dry by their offense. Nothing like seeing your O go three and out and then set the opponent up with the ball on your half of the field (3/4 TDs scored this way, IIRC)
3) are playing quality offenses (that can pick up 1st downs and grind you)

I still like what was done with this d and think Odom is very good at what he does.

Not saying we couldn't have scored more and that the weather didn't have any effect, but you all held us to fewer points than all of our opponents in the West since our offense got sorted out.

I think you're generally right, but two of Arkansas' three TDs in the first half were 83 and 79 yards.

Couldn't have been a better finish of the season for mizzou, you earned it.

Hard to argue that, but he's trying (baller), and we know he has accuracy. Now, will mizzou ever give him a line that can protect him? Will that get a healthy RB that has to be seriously game planned for (helping the passing game), I have my doubts.

duncan_idaho 11-28-2015 08:29 AM

Henson's loyalty to his veteran/senior OL guys is something we've seen since he took the helm (along with less rotation of younger guys, Something Christensen did a lot of), and I think that's been an extreme negative. Continuing to run Chappel and Hall out there was pretty insane.

Flushing Henson could be a major help for Lock. He needs better play around him, and a better scheme/playcalls, but he has improvements to make, too.

Get you barf buckets ready, the next Mizzou coach is going to be another Toledo guy, Matt Campbell. Yeah we're about to make a Kim Anderson hire in football. Good times.

The only bad thing I could say about Matt Campbell is that he was on Tim Beckman's staff.

He took a team from the MAC and won at a place where we just lost by 25, and he did it with his players.

He's an Ohio kid and he has no SEC/Texas ties, so that's a risk, but he's young and he's done a decent job of recruiting at a tough place to get good players.

Mizzou isn't interviewing a coach from Washburn. The Anderson comparison is terrible.
