Vaccaro could be an interesting Sorensen replacement if he’s cheap.

BossChief 03-10-2021 01:21 PM

Vaccaro is terrible.
Hard pass

Yes, get in line for a WR that can jump up and grab a ball...as long as no one is near him.

Cash strapped teams looking for guys on rookie deals, nothing more.

I agree. The smart move for them is to sign one year contracts with teams that they can get play for and get a lot notice. Then cash in next year when the TV deal blows up the cap.

Legit super bowl contenders should benefit from this. I don't think we are going to see FA wide receivers go out there and get long term big money deals with the cap realities for most teams. Sure, if you want to get paid and play for the Jets, Pats or Jags, have at it, but good teams are pretty much in the same boat.

The problem with going to a contender is that they're often pretty talented and you actually have to PLAY to stand out.

Lev Bell found that out the hard way.

Sounds like bullshit generated by the Patriots to try and generate interest in a player no one has interest in.

We have 8.

The #Giants are releasing veteran guard Kevin Zeitler, clearing nearly $10 million in cap space. Even in a tough free agent market, Zeitler will be in demand considering how well he played

Hoover 03-10-2021 03:18 PM

Yeah, but he was brought in to be RB2.... signing him during the season is way different than the beginning of free agency.

Nobody is going to spend FA dollars on areas where they don’t have a need. My point is this season may allow us to plug a few holes with 1 year gap players who think they will get more money next off season

Bell was always a weird fit for this offense, as I'd said for the last couple years when everyone was clamoring to sign him first for big money as a FA and then later, and even when we did for cheap.

In my opinion, The Steelers at that particular point in time were still a threat in the play-offs, and Bell was brought in as much to keep him away from Pittsburgh where he might've hurt us as he was to be a #2 back here.

His playing time here would seem to back my hypothesis.

If we can't get Samuels, Golladay, Agholor, or Jones this would be a good signing. I'm assuming there's no way we get the tier 1 WRs.

Golliday is in tier 1 as far as I'm concerned. I would add corey davis to the second tier of Samuel, jones, agholor. Even though I think his talent is a tier below, I would rather have Higgins than agholor. We need someone surehanded.
