Spare me. And spare me the condescending attitude. I haven't spent my adult lifetime reading little else but history to have you sit there and act like you're some kind of Harvard history professor. You're the one defending the mass murdering criminal here, not me.

There's a big difference between comprehending history and being some fact-vomiting moron. I have never defended Capone - I just stated a FACT, that he did do things for people that had positive benefits. Looking back as a close-minded, judgmental douche from 2009, you say SO WHAT HE WAS EVIL, but I try to look at history from multiple vantages, and if I was, say, an unemployed Chicagoan from 1930 kept alive by Capone's soup kitchen, I'm not going to mind the other shit he does quite so much, nor will I care about his motives. I'm quite sure the 1930 guy wouldn't give a crap what you thought about his benefactor, and since Capone lived in 1930 and not 2009, who are you to dismiss his opinion out of hand?

I also loved the way you judged Cole Younger in Shithead's thread. Never mind the fact that Younger's PRO-UNION father was murdered by a Union officer over a personal slight - the teenage Younger was just EVIL because he rode with Confederate guerillas. You judge people who lived in another time by modern standards and think you know what's going on? Horseshit. You're a fool.

And since you are a fool, I'll be as condescending as I want. Spare this. 4321

Have a nice day.

BTW: I snore like a water buffalo. I guess I'm glad we didn't live at the same time and in the same hotel.

That's awesome.

And perhaps next time you read a history book, you should try one that doesn't have quite so many pictures in it.

However, you could qualify that by saying japanese civilians were warriors and that ultimately it saved nearly as many american lives simply through the use of the bomb. I'm just running with the standards of the board here though.

Sure. After I'm done with the current one on the Battle of Lepanto, I'll try to find one. Thanks for the good advice.
