Yes but not with how the OL are doing in a completely different scheme. He made some good picks, but ****ed up a lot of later picks. His demise was ultimately the draft pick, trade and coach he hired when he started.

In addition to the fact that Pioli thought that he was smarter then everyone else and did stupid shit to prove it.

This is why the Schwartz thing (or the o-line as a whole really) is so frustrating.

This team suddenly has a TON of holes where they didn't exist a month ago.

We're already short on picks.

I think it's clear that they aren't gonna spend a dime until they get guys like Alex Smith and Justin Houston locked up.

Well....let's see what you got Reid/Dorsey. I'm fully prepared to take an offensive linemen in the 1st round.

I'd bet any amount of money that they go after a WR in the first.

Disappointing. I really wanted to keep him. But that clearly wasn't in the cards.

-King- 03-11-2014 03:26 PM

The success of Schwartz really should be an indication that we shouldn't go after a high priced guard or draft one in the 1st. If an undrafted career backup can do what he did, I'd be surprised if Dorsey and Reid really invest a lot of resources to get another one. That's why I'm positive that they'll likely draft a WR in the 1st. It's the biggest need other than safety and getting a great is more important than getting a great safety.

Schwartz was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Heh, don't know why I thought he was undrafted.

Good for him though. He's worked hard to get this pay day and he deserves it. Bounced around the league a lot and finally getting a decent contract to set him up for the future.
