I don't think so. I'd still like to see them offer the iowa state kid a greyshirt, but I doubt they do. I don't think he really wants to be at iowa state, though. He's looking for a life raft.

If they get Beckner, they probably don't want to fill a spot that they might want next year (for a better prospect).

I guess I don't know how this works. What's the difference between a grey shirt & a preferred walkon or is it the same thing? How did Nebraska used to do it with their walkon program?

I'm not sure there is a huge difference, but they'd be expected to give him a scholly next year. They may want that scholly for other prospects (again, assuming they get Beckner).
