It would take a shit ton of money to lure Self away and IMO he'd only go to OKC only if Durant is still there.

Thibodeau, Spolstra, and Stevens aren't going anywhere. If the Celtics can Stevens, they'd replace him with an NBA veteran coach, not another college guy. I frankly don't see why an NBA franchise wouldn't go for Calipari or Pitino first. They have more panache. Basically, we're looking at the Spurs, because the Thunder aren't getting rid of Scott Brooks anytime soon and Buford would go after Self. |

What college coach is best equipped to next jump to the NBA?
Fred Hoiberg (19 percent) Mike Krzyzewski (16 percent) Billy Donovan (14 percent) Bill Self (14 percent) John Calipari (12 percent) Tom Izzo (12 percent) Thad Matta (5 percent) http://www.cbssports.com/collegebask...ump-to-the-nba |
I think they confused "best equipped" with "most likely." Who would want to stay in that shithole in Iowa when they could be going league?

FYI ---> Snider has KU on list: Quentin Snider, a 6-1 senior point guard from Louisville, who is ranked No. 31 in the Class of 2014 by Rivals.com, recently decided to re-open his recruitment after committing to Louisville on Aug. 4, 2011. Snider’s dad, Scott, told Peegs.com that schools on his new list include KU, Indiana, Louisville, Minnesota, Marquette, West Virginia, USC, Illinois, UConn, UCLA, Memphis, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Xavier, Cincinnati and Vanderbilt.
---> Oubre MVP: Kelly Oubre, a 6-5 senior from Bush High in Richmond, Texas, who has KU on his list of prospective schools, scored 22 points and dished seven assists, earning MVP honors at the Big Strick Classic all-star game on Saturday in New York City. He is ranked No. 19 in the Class of 2014 by Rivals.com. Oubre has a list of KU, Florida, Kentucky, Georgetown, Louisville, Oregon, UConn and UNLV. ---> Cheick Diallo, 6-9 junior from Our Savior New American High in Centereach, N.Y., who is ranked No. 6 in the Class of 2015, had 21 points and 13 rebounds. Diallo has scholarship offers from KU, UConn, Texas, Louisville, Syracuse, Villanova and others, Zagsblog.com indicates. Stephen Zimmerman, a 7-foot junior from Bishop Gorman High in Las Vegas, who is considering KU and many others, had 19 points and seven boards. He’s ranked No. 2 in the Class of 2015. ---> Elite prospects: Several KU targets will be playing in the Elite 24 game on Aug. 24 in Brooklyn (6 p.m., ESPNU). They include: Tyus Jones, Stanley Johnson, Emmanuel Mudiay, Malik Newman, Oubre, Rashad Vaughn, Myles Turner, Justise Winslow and Zimmerman. -kusports |
The Champions Classic has been renewed for another 3 years. This year in Chicago is going to be one of the toughest tickets in collegiate sports in years. Can't wait.

Tyus and Okafor, rumored to be a package deal, will make their official visits to KU together. Only a few schools are getting both on a visit together KU is one of them.

Still never understood how Mich State weaseled their way into this over UCLA. I guess Indiana didn't do it because they already played Kentucky each year.

I hate recruiting.

1. Playing time. 2. Top school. 3. Absolutely no one in front of them. 4. National exposure 5. Top coach. It's totally fine. We should be focusing on Mudiay, Turner, Cliff Alexander, and one of: Stanley Johnson, Justise Winslow, or Kelley Oubre. Quote:

I love recruiting! It's kind of like putting a trophy in the case for joining a new athletic conference.

KU is at #22 in apparel sales. Better than most, but not as good as some others. #4 in the Big 12, behind Texas, OU, and West Virginia.

Kansas just needs to let Conner Frankamp shoot the ball ALL DAY LONG.
Making 400-410 shots in a single workout with his dad? That's one of the most impressive things I've heard someone do relating to basketball. |
Wish Tharpe wouldn't have to start.
I'd literally start these guys....IMO it's the most important group that needs to learn how to gel and play together. PG-Frankamp (he's going to shatter any records Tyrel Reed or Jeff Boschee had at KU) SG-Seldon (how awesome would it have been if McLemore stayed?, Seldon is a beast though, but not as polished offensively as Ben.) SF-Wiggins (duh....the guy's at least the next Tracy McGrady) PF-Ellis (this guy needs to be the leader of this team - not sure if he's ready for that. Hopefully with the late season success last season can carry over to this season along with him getting better in the process, bigger and stronger. He was kinda a pussy down low last season. He needs to get bigger...but give it time, he was only a freshman.) C-Embiid (he's 7ft tall, much more athleticism than Withey and has more offensive game, blocking shots is easy and even though Withey made an art of it and is one of if not the best blocking center in KU history, Embiid will not have any problems blocking shots, esp if he can learn early how to force other guys off the block and get good position....not to mention he has a soft shooting touch and can hit 10ft jumpers...he's raw, but the sky's the limit for this Embiid kid.) Mason, Tharpe, Greene, Black off of the bench. This is a DEEP team. There are a couple others too like Traylor and WhiteIII, but KU can easily run a 9-10 group this season. This is gonna be a high scoring/shooting fresh team that's going to run people right out of the gym. There's nothing that takes the wind out of another team's sails more than a team that does nothing but drain 3's all day. When you're scoring 3 more times than they're scoring 2 when they're playing their asses off, it's naturally exhausting to look up at the scoreboard and see you're down 12-15 or so pts when you think you're outplaying them. It's the kind of team that can make a dangerous tourney run when having the hot hand. I know the Royals are in the middle of a possible playoff chase now, first time in damn near half of a century, and Chiefs have a new regime and show some promise with their pro bowl talent and new QB/coaches etc - at least it's a fresh and new/better feel around the organization and that's saying a lot considering what all happened last season and the season before. But I'm REALLY excited for college bball season. Kansas is gonna get tested early by some good teams...it will be great to see Kansas thump them early and just run roughshod through the Big12 for their 10th straight title and onto the Final4/National title game. I'm expecting that. Anything less would be a failure. Hope this team can handle any pressures they're gonna endure as the season progresses...because they're gonna look good....real good. |

The starting lineup is going to be:
Tharpe Selden Wiggins Ellis Black By conference play, I expect Mason to have beat out Tharpe for the starting PG spot. Embiid won't start over Black unless he majorly develops. He could be another Marvin Williams, where he can't crack the starting five but still goes in the lottery. |

tldr; anrio never enrolled at ohio u and is going to community college.
http://www.cbssports.com/collegebask...r-transferring Kansas transfer Anrio Adams will not play for Ohio University this year, according to the Athens Messenger. The Messenger reported Adams wasn't at the Ohio team meeting Sunday and failed to enroll in classes for the fall semester. He was with the team for all of two months before parting ways; Adams, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard, announced his transfer to Ohio in mid-June after opting to leave KU in early April. "After meeting with Rio, we've agreed that it's in his best interests to pursue his basketball career at the junior college level," (Ohio coach Jim) Christian said. "We wish him the best in his future endeavors." ... Adams has had trouble staying in one place very long. As a junior in high school, he was kicked off the Franklin (Wash.) High School team despite being the team's returning leading scorer. He attempted to transfer to schools in Connecticut and New Jersey, but instead ended up at Garfield High School (near Seattle) to finish his junior season, then wrapped his prep career at Rainier Beach in Seattle. Playing behind lottery pick Ben McLemore last season, Adams scored 27 points total for the Jayhawks, averaging less than four minutes per game. He was set to redshirt this season for the Bobcats. |
