31-14 TCU. About 5 mins left in the 3rd quarter.

If both teams execute equally, I think the team with the most talent will win.

A few pass knockdowns at the line were the only positives.

Not even the coaching of Bill Snyder can make up for the talent difference between KSU and TCU.

TCU pretty much has a guaranteed playoff spot. Maybe Texas gives them a challenge, but I think they match up well against them.

Absolutely, but when the big Bowls are played, a very important change takes place:

They let the defense play physical all the way down the field. This is why Big 12 teams get fisted against SEC opponents in their bowl matchups.

TCU will not get the benefit of soft secondary play when they go to the playoff. The officials simply will not call contact.

And to think, Patterson was in Manhattan, making plans to take the job after Snyder retired.

I'm not sure who they'll play, but they look like a complete team in my book. Great QB, big-play WRs, good O-line, great pass rush, and shut-down corners.

TCU has really flown under the radar until now.

Which would you prefer?

I'm all for the "Let them play" mentality, but there's a point where it is clearly inhibiting what a team wants to do.

That's how TCU plays defense. That's why Jake has had 8 seconds in the pocket and still not find an open receiver.

The killer has been K-state's inability to run the ball. TCU's D-line is throwing K-state's O-line around like crash dummies.

Bingo.

Their running backs have sucked for over 5-6 years. Without a running QB, they have no running game.

Waters would be scary if he had a running game to support him.

It's amazing that he does so much with so little. KSU is usually at a talent disadvantage in 1/2 their games.

Meh....

The game reminds me a lot of the MNF game the Chiefs had against the Pats.

A night time game. Prime time. Amped up crowd. It was going to be tough for anyone to go in that stadium and hang with TCU tonight.

notorious 11-08-2014 09:40 PM

It impresses me that KSU usually makes adjustments at half that turns the game somewhat.

TCU completely took over the 2nd half.

Coach 11-08-2014 09:57 PM

What Snydz is missing is a true legit dual threat QB like Boykin.

Waters is a good QB, but he is limited. He's no threat to take it to the house, like Bishop and Roberson did.

Also, I will note two things that is puzzling to me. The lack of utilizing the TE's and the RB's.

It would be nice if they had talent at those positions.

I agree, though, KSU has to have a dual-threat QB to succeed at a high level. Waters throws a hell of a nice ball, but with no running game it will be a struggle.

I remember when Klein was QBing. I don't think he threw as well as Walters, but Klein was was nearly impossible to bring down 1v1. Walters just doesn't have that type of game in him. He seems like more of your typical pocket QB, which isn't a bad thing, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a Snyder team without a QB that was a legitimate running threat.

Yep. No adjustments what so ever. The entire first half I was yelling for some one to be positioned in hr middle to stop the QB from gashing us there. Second half, still no one there.

And don't get me started on the instance of running the ball versus stretching the field. That was just :banghead:

You've got a nice little team this year. Foster is the perfect fit for your program...a guy that can really play at a high level year one but isn't going to leave early. That's the type of player you see on teams playing in late March. The EcoKatz are going to be a tough out.

Just checking.

He sounded 50/50 on Between The Lines yesterday and sounded pissed that his office was getting torn down.

Geriatrics usually don't like such a dramatic change in routine.
