Well it was pushed to a game six.

Lakers are going to be tough out for the Warriors on Friday. Pressure is all on the Lakers to win because they do not want to go back to the Warriors home court for a game 7.

It was just boring.

The Lakers never really felt out of it but they never really felt in it either.

They had a little run over the latter half of the 1st quarter but they still felt more like they were waiting for GS to fall off rather than trying to push themselves over the top. And even pace was going to require a 50 point game from Davis and he just doesn't do that sort of thing.

I was struggling to pay much attention. Felt like LA was as well...

Just a ho hum road loss. If Davis comes back, it really shouldn't amount to much. I can't imagine they put much actual effort into the game.

I didn't watch the game so I can't comment on how Game 5 went but we need Game 6 Klay to show up to have a chance.

Not what the Warriors were hoping to hear.

Felt like AD just wanted out of the game anyway. Lakers pretty much mailed that one in last night.

So everything I'm hearing is that LA has to win Game 6, because they have no shot at winning a Game 7. That sound accurate?

They can win game 7 too. They already won on the road once this series and AD remains the best player on the floor on either team (if healthy).

Yeah, that might've been a little hyperbolic to say that they had no shot. no one on the post-game show was optimistic that LA could win a Game 7 though. Charles was the most emphatic about it, saying they had no shot at all.

My guess is that LA is going to play as if they have to win Game 6, just based on all the talk on the radio today.

I figure about a 60% chance of winning game 6, about a 35% chance of winning game 7. And either of those could be a hair pessimistic.

But that also means about a 75% chance of winning the series. Then again, I'd have put them at about a 92% chance to win the series headed into game 5 presuming about a 40% chance of winning that one. So the odds ain't headed in the right direction and they turn completely upside down if they lose game 6.

But that's how combined probability works. It's why the bye week is so important. Having to win 3 games as opposed to 2 is quite a bit more difficult.

Charles is a weathervane. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the guy, but he was saying after game 4 that the series was over and GSW is toast. Now one win by the home team later and it's do or die for LA going into game 6?

Chill a bit, Chuck.

Chuck's always been good for a really bold take, which is why you have to take anything he says with a grain of salt. But usually the other guys on the panel contradict him pretty quickly, and this time that didn't happen. Which is why I brought it up, as I don't really follow the NBA anymore and wondered if Charles wasn't just saying stuff to say stuff.

It’s true. Basketball needs saving and only the Lakers can do it tomorrow.
