Yep, I would roll with this plan. I don't know if everyone who needs to be on board with it WOULD be on board with it. IE, I'm not sure Witt would be amenable to such a change.

Alternative could be Loftin playing 2B with Witt at 3B and Garcia at SS. Put Pratto at 1B and that could be a really outstanding IF defensively.

100%. No reason Witt Jr can't be a great CF. Garcia is a fantastic infielder and he's most valuable at SS.

Then again, it was also pretty convinced that Trent Grisham was going to be a top 10 player in baseball. So it may not be the best source for these sorts of things...

The point is hes the same age as Witt Jr and he's much better defensively (although Witt has improved defensively this year). If Garcia is as good as Witt Jr offensively (which he has been so far) then there is no reason to treat Bobby with kid gloves. You just put the best defender at SS and call it a day. The only reason you would leave Bobby at SS is if you thought he was this premier player and don't want to upset him.
