Helaire is more gifted at every single thing you could compare than Williams except for straight line speed and pass protection.

We just got undeniably better, and in an obvious way, and picking at #32 that's not super easy to do.

RB wasn't my top position, but you can't argue with getting your #1 rated playmaker at #32.

Now get me a LB, a CB, and a couple fatties and let's roll.

I hear you but in recent years good RBs are notorious for always falling in the draft due to less importance being put on the position. We couldn't have found another good RB in the 2nd? Is Clyde really that good?

Well hopefully it works out and Clyde turns out to be a beast.

Drafting an RB in the 1st round when we have Williams:shake:

I don't necessarily agree with 1st round, but Williams was never going to stay healthy and carry the load for an entire season. RB was a need sooner than later.

There will be a RB run in today's draft, if anyone thinks had the Chiefs not made that pick they were getting a RB that was comparable....Swift, Dobbins and Taylor will be long gone by the time the Chiefs pick today.

We’re set at both for the upcoming season, so that’s good news. Let the remaining OL, LB, and DB fall to us.

I think Clyde is going to see a lot of balls in the passing game. He has great hands, is really good at making the first person miss, as well as breaking arm tackles. Get that guy in space and he will rack up the YAC. Clyde also seems to be a team player, with a great attitude.

No doubt. We'll see how it goes.

absolutely.

Helaire wasn't drafted to carry the rock 30 times a game. He was drafted to catch 80 balls and carry the rock when we want to.

Remember Veach's Westbrook comments. Consider how Westbrook was used.

Giant Waste of a draft choice.

 Prediction: This post will age like a runny fart in a mason jar.

Exactly, if they didnt think they could get a RB they wanted by their next pick then you take him where you can.

Schrager on Good Morning Football:

"There were teams ripping up papers and shouting expletives, FURIOUS that the Chiefs got Clyde Edwards-Helaire like that. They were gearing up to trade up in the 2nd for him, and all of that planning went out the window"

Saw that. He also said CEH was his favorite RB - possibly his favorite player - in the entire draft. Called him the best playmaker in the draft.
