Sure feels like the NFL has a "we can't do anything that might favor KC" mindset.

That kind of logic fails to take in to account the fact that the Chiefs have played one more game than the Bills and Bengals

Yep, they played 9 minutes of a 60 minute game. So they dodged 85% of the risk of injuries across both teams. Buffalo dodged a pretty strong chance (at least 55% IMHO) of outright losing that game as well, based on the A+ quality we were seeing from the Cincy offense.

This is what they're currently working with, according to Schefter.

League is working towards either a potential neutral site AFC Championship game or 1 seed choosing between getting having a bye or home field with 2 seed getting whatever not picked.

That's all. Nothing about adding more seeds or any other silly shit

Perfectly said. I've been trying to explain this to people coming up with dumb ideas for fantasy football.

The second it was decided this game wasn't going to be played this week, there was nothing else to be done.

I talk to my guys at work about this all the time. Have for years. Huge mistakes usually are the result of trying a bunch of things to fix a smaller mistake. I know this all too well from experience.

Take the first loss and move on don't keep complicating shit and making the cost higher.

I can't imagine that anyone was super excited about playing again, but it's not like the NFL was pushing them out with cattle prods and the players were refusing.

If the players' wishes aren't being considered then there was no excuse to resume play within the 72 hours as per league bylaws. That didn't happen.

Ergo, it was the players' choice.

I was going to say I'm shocked the 8th team idea hasn't come up yet. We have two weeks out so you could get a TV broadcast prepared in that time and slap it on NFL Network if need be. It would eliminate any fighting over a bye although the homefield advantage issue is still there.

That's still bad. Two of the top three teams got 85 percent of a bye week.

Yes, I've read that too. Absurd in itself for different reasons.

And both ideas are completely ****ing stupid. No contest that shit, assign the #1 seed based off win percentages after Week 18 and start playing playoff games.

I said this in the other thread

So, we could end up playing the bengals at a neutral ****ing site? That makes no sense, right?

And the Bengals would maybe end up going to Buffalo? The bills would have needed to win their game, that they were losing, to get to play at home, and now they just get it?

Am I missing something?

comochiefsfan 01-05-2023 01:39 PM

The only reason that anything besides the no contest winning percentage solution is being considered is because it benefits the Chiefs and everyone hates and is sick of the Chiefs.

It's clearly the easiest, most common sense solution. But because it benefits the big bad Chiefs we can't have it.

Just pathetic.

Yes, if that's the scenario they choose, we should be able to skip the Raiders game this weekend, no? What benefit is derived out of playing it for us?

That's probably what's going to happen anyway.
