I find it ironic that Richt was one of the coaches they were looking at when they hired Pinkel in 2001.

Every other hire he has made has been spot-on, all the way back to his time at Akron. What I'm saying is that I have a lot of faith in him in this hire, because I think he has earned it. If he thinks Wells is the guy, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. And I'll admit my initial reaction to Wells was the same as yours, but then I did some research on him and it changed a little bit. Tough OOC schedules have depressed his overall record, but he's been very successful at Utah State despite significant injuries at the most important position on the field - QB. |
