But that isn't just me... that's a pretty consensus scouting opinion on him. His "Power" tool rates as a 40-45 future tool, which is double-digit HR. The Royals have pushed him to a new level every year of his career, and I believe he has been either the youngest or second-youngest player in his league at every stop. It will be interesting to see what they do with him this year... do they push him to Omaha or let him repeat a level for the first time? |

•The Royals signed former Twins/Tigers right-hander Lester Oliveros,. The hard-throwing 27-year-old was traded from Detroit to Minnesota in 2011’s Delmon Young swap. He missed a season due to Tommy John surgery but has generally pitched well in Triple-A when healthy, owning a 3.71 ERA with 11.2 K/9 against 3.5 BB/9 at that level. In the Majors, he has a 5.22 ERA in 29 1/3 innings, but he’s averaged nearly 94 mph on his fastball.

Will the Royals have any interest in one of these guys?

I'd take a flier (flyer?) on Austin Jackson for the right price.
Lee and Lincecum are intriguing, although Lee supposedly is asking for too much money given the uncertainty concerning his elbow. Latos is a good bounce-back candidate assuming he's healthy, but given his reputation in the clubhouse you wonder if the Royals would want to inject him into the team's chemistry. |
Clippard and Morales are intriguing.
