LMAO really? you think this is all just a big conspiracy theory?

He was a badass FS at Tennessee in the cover 2, his problem as a rookie was recognition issues with play design. He doesn't have the same explosion as he did. He'll rely more on instinct and his run support ability it seems. It sucks, but if he was truly was back %100 Lewis' injury prone ass would be gone and Berry would be in his place.

So who plays Berry's role in the sub?

LOL, that's the point of offseason FA and draft prep. I don't feel like going through the draft prospects in this draft class but it was a solid mother****er for the SS position.

The role Berry plays cant be played by your standard ss. He is unique because he can run and cover, as well as play in the box, hence why the coaches want him in that role. I don't for a second think that the only reason he is playing there is because his injury has eliminated his quickness.

Would i prefer him playing at the back end? Sure, but until we have another guy who an play his role, or a linebacker apart from dj who can cover, by all means play him there,

Since Berry was drafted, he's been playing that role. He's never been on the back end with the Chiefs.

I don't see the issue with Berry playing SS. It's more of a hybrid role anyway. He's not Kam Chancellor who strictly plays in the box. He covers, and I think in an aggressive scheme, he will shine.

The day I take a football take from Tribal Warfare seriously is the day I ask my 3 year old for investment advice.

Agree with this 100%.

Everyone ripped Romeo rightfully for boxing Berry last season, and now 8 months later it's cool.

Double standard much?

Different defense. Berry will attack in this scheme.

I don't hate Berry in the box. I hate the idea of him guarding elite tight ends one on one. That was an impossible task and naturally he didn't succeed at it too often

No, it's not a double standard. The read and react way that Romeo called this defense is what people had the most problems with. Berry though was never strictly an in the box safety last year though. You're carrying on like the Chiefs are using him as a linebacker.

People wanted more of an aggressive defense from Romeo. You'll get that now.

Berry will have his opportunities to make plays in the passing game.

I'll also wait until this regime plays actual games before I jump all over the way a player is used.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet but our CBs will now be playing matchups. Flowers and Sean Smith have been working both sides and Sean will obviously matchup with the bigger WR.
