Jeff wanted tires, Kes was the first car on 4 tires and had made up 7 spots in 3-4 laps. I was listening to the scanner. Jeff said 'we are toast unless we come in'. Alan asked him if he wanted to be '15th with tires' and Jeff shouted, Yes!. So he pitted.
