Not defending the stiffarms, but the and-1 was a legit foul on Withey. The reffing was horrid all around last night. Touch fouls one minute, thuggery with no-calls the next.

I agree about the and 1 being a legit call. But my point was that it should have never come to that considering the obvious stiff arm twice by Gipson right before that.

Most games I believe the calls even out. We are just talking about it now because a couple KSU fans had their built in excuses about the refs favoring KU before the game even started.

Maybe, but that team did have 12 losses, finished 6th out of 8 teams in their conference, lost 7 consecutive games in Feb., and finished with a sub .500 conference record. IMO if that team was eligible for post-season play and received and NCAA bid, they would have been the last team selected.

As far as KU, last year's game in Manhattan definitely stands out... it was laughable (mostly because the worst calls were going KU's way :D ). And at the end of the game vs. Duke last season.

People always whine about KU shooting more FT than their opponents. One time several years ago, I read a KU fan posting that the majority of the gap took place in the last 5 min of a game. I.e., when KU was up and the other team was forced to foul constantly.

Of course, this didn't quell the conspiracy - it only made it worse. "KU gets preferential treatment at the end of games??? So they can win? UNFAIR!"

We've also had damn good shotblockers in the paint which forces teams to bomb 3s in order to beat us. ISU and KSU took 30 or more 3s against us this year. Hard to get to the line when you're mad-bombing. But what's the alternative? Having Aldrich or Withey block your shots?

Duke goes down. Coach K is the Mike D'Antoni of college hoops. I saw on several possessions where they had an opportunity to drive the ball and get an easy basket but they shoot the stupid contested three. Live by it, die by it.

Man,

I thought this year with Plumlee's progression they'd be more balanced. They just don't have much of a frontcourt - especially with Kelly playing near the perimeter more so than down low.

Who was the last most effective post player for Duke? Shelden "Ninja Turtle Face" Williams?

Duke peaked way too early. They really don't have a guy on the perimeter who can break you down and teams figured out to not help off Plumlee.

Puke must have hit the bars hard about 10:00 this morning. That is the most uninspired play I've seen in a long time. Maybe ever. Kazoo put the scrubs in and got them to stop the bleeding in the second half. We've had letdown games when we were #1. But GODDAMN.

Self on how McLemore can get better...

Ben needs to shoot more. We got to run stuff for him but he has also got to be more aggressive. He is not the most aggressive kid as far as putting himself in position. I was proud of him. That game didn't go great for him at first and he didn't do that much to start the second half but then he made some unbelievable athletic plays.
