Peters let the Chiefs down. Peters brought this situation on with his own actions. I hate losing a player with his skill set and abilities, but the Chiefs were in a complete lose-lose situation with him, especially if what doomy3 has said about the Chiefs nearly releasing him mid season are accurate.

Keeping one of the best CB's in football and trying to work things out was the better option than giving him away for nothing.

The fact that there was apparently not many trade partners for the Chiefs, is even more reason to keep him rather than giving him away for nothing and forcing a trade that wasn't there (in terms of getting anything close to equal value in return).

The bottom line is the Chiefs are a worse team now without arguably the best CB in football.

There is no way to deny that basic fact.
