I think the helments will look pretty good! It would be nice to get an autoghraph on one of them. People just need to lighten up. I thought Keitzman was going to have a meltdown today. Did anyone sign his petition!

The state of Texas on the side of a Kansas City Chiefs helmet is a slap in the face to the fans after the citizens of KC spent $300+ million to refurbish the stadium.

They should have known how this would be viewed by many fans.

Let's all be aware that the NFL (in my view) is honoring the AFL Origins.

And besides, it's just only three games.

You do get, don't you, that the unis are being worn to honor the origins of the team, not to honor the state of Texas? Is that distinction too fine for a mind as coarse as yours?

I think a much bigger slap in the face to Chiefs fans would be the Missouri silhouette, seeing as how a large portion of the fan base is in Kansas.

I'm not a huge fan of this.

But it doesn't make me sick to my stomach like the day I walke dinto Arrowhead and saw the team wearing those Godawful white on white unis a couple of seasons ago.

I'm not too bent about this. The goal is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the AFL. The Chiefs were not founded in KC, they were founded in Dallas. So, if all the teams are going to wear uni's from their first AFL season, this makes sense. The Tennessee Titans are going to wear Houston Oilers gear, and the Jets are going to wear New York Titans Gear, so go figure.

Here's a very cool website that has helmets over the history of the NFL and AFL. I really like the old Washington Redskins Maroon Helmets with the spear. Florida State totally ripped that off:
