Yep. They need help there.

Nah. Good teams would never slide a high draft choice to RT to make way for a deluxe LT. I've read that a million times on ChiefsPlanet.

You know what? In all honesty...good. For many years we had this coach that was supposed to be an Offensive guru. A "mastermind" on that side of the ball. I kept thinking that if you are in charge of an organization and you have a dominant skill then you spend your resources where you are weak. You aggressively go after the best coaching and the best players you can on Defense. Then you use your skill to develop players on O that wouldn't be as productive on other teams.

But I watched my team spend valuable resources on the Offense while the D wasted away. Sure. We traded Portis for Bailey. We got rid of a RB that wasn't going to play for us anyway so we could make a superstar CB lead our team in tackles. Woop dee ****ing doo. A few years later Champ is banged up and gun shy from trying to cover for a shitty line and an eroded LB corps.

So...I'm waiting. IF the new regime uses these new picks to fix the D and polishes one of our turd QB's enough to make him competent...then I'm happy. Frankly I'm sick of the _enver _onkey _efense.

Had Chris Williams had the season Branden Albert had last year, the Bears don't bother signing Orlando Pace.

WOW! Denver didn't get robbed though, 2 first rounders and Orton. Here's to Denver drafting 2 busts!

Yeah, that's why I'm so confused about this. I thought everyone signed all the line spots besides LT in rounds 3-7.

Pace doesn't have much left. Signing him doesn't mean that Williams is being consigned to RT for the rest of his career.

I really wish the Chiefs signed Kevin Schaffer.

Hootie 04-02-2009 04:30 PM

What's the problem with playing Williams at RT? He'll be a badass RT...Pace is only going to be a Bear for 1 or 2 years...you put Pace at LT...if he gets hurt you have depth with Schaeffer...Pace is a low risk/high reward signing especially with the OT depth the Bears now have.

SO in your estimation deion branch is 4x the receiver randy moss is?

and the Bears also have Frank Omiyale who plays OG and OT...they have a shit ton of depth on their line now with guys who can play multiple positions.

Forte/Cutler...shit, trade the rest of their draft for Chad Johnson and they are set LMAO

It IS a great deal for the Bears.

They didn't like Kyle Orton. Gone.

They likely wouldn't have been able to draft a QB like Cutler with their 2009 pick.

So in essence, all they really gave up was a 2010 pick for supposedly one of the best young QB's in the game.

But wasn't Williams' strength his feet and athleticism last year? Seems like all the talk was that he was an ideal pass blocking LT that wasn't a physical mauler. If that's the case, why would he be a badass RT?

If I am remembering last year's assessment on him incorrectly, I apologize in advance.

Trading a lot for Cutler makes a lot more sense than trading a lot for Cassel...

The Pats had to get Cassel off of their books in order to make all of the great signings they made...

I don't care either way...Cassel isn't a prima donna, he's a student of the game and he'll do anything for his team...I love the fact he's a Chief...and that we only had to give up #34 for him.
