Bengals have a good coaching staff as a whole. And I don't mean their head coach Taylor but his assistants Anarumo, Callahan and Simmons. Anarumo in particular has been key to their success. His defense is very disciplined and had the fewest penalties in the league last year if I'm not mistaken. We have to be patient and generate long drives. Slow the game down. Keep their defense on the field as long as possible, tire and frustrate them. Impose your physicality with the run game. Short passes on every drive. Kill them slowly.

Chris “Zero Playoff Sacks” Jones is going to have to either change that in a big way or at the very least be massively disruptive for us to have a good chance in this one.

Bengals are Mahomes' Bad Boy Pistons. Time to shut those bitches up.

Burrow was sacked 4 times and hit 8 times. The Bengals were held to 50 rushing yards and 2.8 yards per carry.

The Bills have been getting gashed on the ground lately and their pass rush was never the same without Miller.

The OL is absolutely a weakness that the Chiefs should be able to exploit like so many other teams have (which is why Burrow is one of the most sacked QBs in the game and their rushing stats have been so poor). The problem for most teams is that they don’t also have the fire power to keep up with those great Cinci weapons and QB.

The Chiefs do though. There are zero excuses for the defense to get gashed again by the Bengals and to not put Burrow on his ass multiple times.

If they don’t take advantage of those OL issues, the Chiefs will lose and deservedly so.

Division rivals tend to play tough against each other. AFC North is very physical and the Ravens showed that in their 3 games with Cincy this season. Those rough games in the AFC North have helped Cincy be a more physical team, which makes them a very tough team to beat for the likes of KC or Buffalo or anyone else for that matter.

I actually think the Bengals have an excellent rushing attack.

They are down multiple starters. We've got stars on the Dline and on the second level. If we get gashed there we got problems. That's a matchup we have to win because if Burrow has all day to exploit our young secondary it will be ugly. Really ugly.

Chieftain 01-22-2023 11:27 PM

Cincy's OLine is weaker. This cannot be disputed. It didn't show today because Buffalo's defensive line was an abomination. Phillips who was recovering from his injury didn't play many snaps so he was a non-factor in the run defense. Buffalo couldn't generate any rushes with their edge guys. Cincy had a balanced attack as a result. That won't be the case when they face the Chiefs who not only are among the league leaders in sacks and pressures generated but also have a very competent run defense. Bolton and Gay are two run stuffing monsters. If we play our game mistake free, Chiefs win. Simple as that.

The snow literally saved Cincys line, it neutralized Buffalo's speed and let Cincy use the size.

They’ve had a handful of good rushing games, but they’ve had a ton of duds.

That’s why they only averaged 3.8 yards per carry for the year.

And it’s not like that’s due to struggling early then turning it on late.

Week 18: 2.8 yards per carry
Week 17: canceled
Week 16: 3 yards per carry
Week 15: 2.5 yards per carry

50% chance of snow Sunday in KC. Let’s hope it’s just flurries.

Just remember this.

Patrick, Kelce and Jones have 12+ games of playoff experience. So does Nnadi. Clark has 15. Thornhill 7.

Burrow and his boys only have 6.

They just started doing this last year.

Cincy has 6 playoff games the last 2 seasons and they've won 5 of those games. So far it's been pretty bulletproof for them.

Glad the Bengals got to be the villains and end the Hallmark movie the league and media was trying to sell. Almost everyone outside of Cincinnati will be pulling for the Chiefs Sunday now.
