The difference is that I accept that risk and would have been fine with the consequence of not getting it (the Bengals on their own 1 up three points in the first quarter is not a bad spot for the Chiefs to be). I may have been more risk averse if it was late in a playoff game in a tight game, but in that scenario? Let's go for it and let the chips fall where they may. |
"WhY dOnT wE jUsT gO fOr It On 4tH dOwN!!!"
Oh look - another game where we got stonewalled inside the 3 yard line, another game where we took the points on 4th and ANOTHER game where the points ended up proving massive as Atlanta twice had to go for it on 4th down to score a TD instead of just kick the FG to take the lead... But yeah - let's just keep pretending that the calculators will give us the right answer... |

In retrospect, had they kicked the field goal there they’re only down 22-20. Make a quick stop on us, like they did, they would have been driving for a game-winning field goal on the final drive. |
Our offense sucks lately but I’m glad we’ve put some ill shit on tape because the fact that we could pop off at any moment makes opposing teams do the dumbest shit.

Broadcasters would've fawned over Morris for being aggressive and going for it all day had it worked. Nobody - not one soul sans maybe Nick Wright - will say shit about Reid taking the points and them being critical in the end. And I very much doubt anyone will criticize Morris for not kicking it either. From a PR standpoint, the only decision anymore is to just go for it. They'll love you if it works and ignore it when it fails. Meanwhile, when Reid goes against the grain 2 weeks in a row and wins the damn games because of it, nobody's going to say anything. |
A lot of people are forgetting if we didn’t get it on 4th and goal that would have been two trips down with no points in a row.
