There’s a reason the Texans always get the Saturday 3:30pm slot.

No matter what story line you are consuming bro, it doesn't amount to jack squat at about 7:30 EST. I'll be watching to see if the Texans "We are the Big Dogs" defense can slow Mahomes & Co. down enough to make it close.

I'm not consuming shit...dont watch it. Just pointing how how fake/disingenuous these types of shows are...

I'm seeing a decent amount of "If the Texans can pressure the Chiefs the way they got to the Chargers" in way of analysis. And I think it's shallow and hopeful/copeful.

You watch that game, and the Chargers were running a lot of slow-developing routes, with bad concepts all over the place.

If KC commits to the quick game again - and there's every reason to believe that will be their plan, agains - it just doesn't work.

It's going to be fun to see KC fully unleash an offense with a healthy Marquise Brown, Hopkins no longer on a pitch count, Mahomes fully healthy, and everyone rested and ready to rock-and-roll.

Confidence level is like 9.5/10 on this one, for me.

That's just sick...most clutch QB in NFL history.

pretty much a 300 yard/3 TD/0 INT 70% average...with the season on the line.

Herbert seemed slow and unaware to the point of his controller getting disconnected a few times.... he'd stand in there while the world was caving in and took at least a couple pretty dumb sacks or held on too long just to make some half-assed throw.

And Mahomes had a lot of success rolling out the first time around (and interesting that was the first time they had really installed those plays)... whether they keep going back to that well or not, I'm sure some of it was/is 4D chess on certain looks.

I've been trying to figure out why Allen has 3 weeks in the pocket to throw. The OL is good but it ain't THAT good.

And my best hypothesis is that he's willing to run so like Jackson, teams are much less aggressive with their pass rush against him and the coverages they use are similarly passive to make sure the DBs can keep an eye on him.

That sort of thing does cut both ways (nothing is perfect) in that it makes the quick game more difficult. If you're not sending aggressive pressure and your DBs are playing shallow zones, you're going to have more time but you're also going to NEED more time.

That's why all the quick passing QBs we've seen over the years are relatively stationary QBs. It's the way the offense responds to these teams trying to protect against QB runs.

Mahomes can run - but typically doesn't. And now with Worthy and Brown, they can't be super aggressive with their coverages.

So the combination of those things tells me that Houston will absolutely use aggressive pass rushes and they're going to leave some of those shorter throws available to attack them if/when they are.

I think we MUST use the shorter passing game as the primary focus with the deep ball (again, off those one cut and go concepts we dissected Pittsburgh with) as a changeup.

I suspect we will.

Part of that is that the Chargers had figured out that damn 'picket fence' thing that focused on PM's general trend towards rolling right and waiting for the defense to break down.

When teams started doing that a bit, we had to get away from the rollouts.

Once we started having more success across the field with Worthy and eventually Brown, they needed to get their rushers upfield and that should allow us to do more of the rollouts.

You know we'll see that rollout and whip route at some point on a 3rd down play. Or we'll show the action and Mahomes will keep it to run for a 1st.

Isn't down 10 points a Mahomes' playoff standard

I would have hand picked the Texans out of the playoff teams to play the division against. You never know with the Steelers because Russ and Pickens are so good at the long ball. A couple of those and one lucky bounce and who knows. Our CBs are generally really good and stay with guys but sometimes struggle looking for the ball which is how a jump ball receiver can get you.

Nico Collins kinda needs the play to develop and he's a bigger guy obviously. Stroud is going to be sooo confused with what Spags throws at him. As you said Hollywood and Hopkins won't be used 30-50% of the time and we will throw the kitchen sink at them at least in the first half. Chris Jones rested. Watson returning and not being 100% or Humphries whiffing is the only thing I worry about other than just unlucky plays.
