Yeah, if I had the resources to confirm it, I'd be willing to bet that Tony does the same thing more often than not when playing a late night game followed immediately by multi-timezone travel.

Basically Pujols+scrubs.

Although, since we got Holliday, now we can call it Pujols+scrubs.

All teams do that...especially the Dodgers. Obviously they do it because they think they get more wins that way. Check out a Sunday Dodger box score after a night game.

Dodgers actually have Casey Blake and Russel Martin on the bench tonight as well.

PS3 or 360?

I've been thinking about giving it a rent, though now that I'm finally able to manage the stairs, I'll likely be heading to the Parquet Level and hitting up some Road To The Show for a while.

Got stuck in the Mariners organization for a while, but finally reached FA and signed a 6 year, $110M contract with the Red Sox.

ill take 20 a year.

chief52 06-07-2010 10:01 PM

The reason the Dodgers are up tonight sure has nothing to do with the Cardinal line-up. It is about the pitching. The Dodgers are getting it so far and the Cardinals surely haven't.

That is why the next two nights will be tough for the Dodgers...Carpenter and Wainright. That is a one two punch.

No doubt...especially considering he is a rule 5 who had never played above AA. Picked him up out of the Phillies organization. Dodgers have been fortunate with him and Ely stepping up

360.

You should definitely give it a shot.

One tip: The training games in legacy mode are so hard as to border on unfair. I usually adjust sliders for the training games and then knock them back down for fights.

I went through an entire legacy mode with a Light HW who I moved up to Heavy, and now I went from MW to Light Heavy.

I think my guy is 56-0 with 45 KOs, but there have been several close calls.

I have a PS3. I might check the reviews to see if there are any substantial differences, then rent it if I can pull myself away from Road To The Show.

I'm really wanting to buy Red Dead Redemption as well, so something is going to have to wait.

They gave up before they even took the field.:cuss:

I understand you can't catch Molina 162 games. Two of your young studs got tweaks and don't want the injuries to linger. You have two spots in the rotation open due to injuries. But, comeon you don't have to lay down so obviously before even the first pitch is thrown.

I dont care if you are impressed or not, you all couldnt hit off our rule 5 pitcher who was supposed to be the pitcher you pitch when you are down 10-1 in the game. He's only pitching because 2 of our starters are on the DL. We are stuck with this guy for the whole year he cannot be sent down.

So, you want to impress me, hit off a dude that was supposed to just be the Corey Mays of the Dodgers.

YOu all should win today though, you all got a great pitcher going against a pitcher that has been struggling the last 3 outtings for us.

Newslfash, the Cardinals arent the only team with throw away games like i said a few posts up. Dodgers do it all the time and rest, the catcher, 3rd basemen, short stop and left fielder all the time.

I dropped him because I couldn't trust him.

Rasmus is too streaky for a team with a short bench (we only carry 23 players). Raz will go on 3-4 week stretches where he simply misses everything.

I dumped him for Cuddyer because I wanted a more consistent stick. He was my 5th OFer and I hated the idea that I would be forced to start him on a Sunday where I had a tight race in Ks or something like that.

Colby has value, but he certainly has his warts as well.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-08-2010 04:42 PM

The Cardinals really kicked ass through the first three rounds of the draft.

If there is any way DeWitt would funnel the money he was going to use on Wagner Mateo to make Austin Wilson an offer he couldn't refuse, it'd be a phenomenal influx of talent.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cox was the team's 2B by June of 2012.

Actually I have been watching LaRussa since he was with the A's so I am sure I have been watching him manage a hell of a lot longer than you have. You seem to follow the Cardinals but no one else in mlb? Kinda crazy.

As I stated...there are no throw away games in the mlb. There are professionals behind professionals and all teams rest players. As I stated...the Dodgers were resting players last night as well. Pitching was the reason for the Cardinals defeat last night. If you can't afford to rest Molina and Freese you ain't got much.

I bet this will blow your mind. Tony LaRussa actually managed the White Sox before the A's. I sh@t you not....

Austin takes on Wrigley:

Listen to the sound when he makes contact a hair past the 1 minute mark. The damn ball had to have a flat spot.

Smart kid, good upbringing, productive, talented and projectable? Sign him.

Give him Cox's money if necessary (we'll get the pick back if we can't get Cox signed). Get this kid in the fold.

Damn, I forgot that game was on MLB network tonight...tuning in now.

DJ's left nut 06-08-2010 06:01 PM

Then you tuned in just in time to see his first lesson: Sometimes all you can do is tip your cap.

That HR pitch to Young wasn't a bad pitch at all. It was low, it was tailing and he didn't look to telegraph the off-speed. Young just made a nice adjustment mid-swing and fell into it.

No, MLB isn't always fair. Learn this and you'll go far, Stephen.

Pasta Little Brioni 06-08-2010 06:14 PM

Sit down. He made that inning look easy.

Pasta Little Brioni 06-08-2010 06:29 PM

Definately buying the hype. I know it is the Buccos, but Wow that doesn't make his pitches any less nasty.

This game is ****ing painful. We're back in no-hitting/piss-all-over-the-pitcher mode. Molina at the plate makes want to hit something.

And it's official - I ****ing hate Matt Mulder-I mean Holliday. I really don't think he could do anything to change my mind, and the good news for him is, he's too busy counting his money to care.

I have no idea who's batting, but here's how I see this playing out:

Grounder to 2b (after rolling over a fastball trying to pull it)
K swinging
Popup to short RF (after trying to pull a high fastball that the hitter is light years behind).

14 pitches

The hitters don't matter, they're all ****ing braindead.

Of course he did.

Find a hitter on this club that doesn't try to yank everything thrown up there and I'll show you someone that hasn't been with the club for long.

They have a consistently awful approach up and down the lineup.

But have no fear! Holliday's slider speed bat will save us!
