I was at Stafford Springs watching the Bodine and Bouchard brothers run when you you were still a gleam in your daddy's eye. I met Bugsy Stevens.

I was spinnin tire wear and siftin oil pans on NASCAR modified cars while you were still wondering if Ms. Smith was giving out gold stars for spelling.

I want Kyle Busch to win it all, mostly because I want to see Dylan explode.

Dega is scary to watch -- 200 mph -- cars inches apart -- at the mercy of another driver -- and we're on the edge of our seats, waiting for "The Big One"

Hendrick driver says two-car drafting is a bad thing…

Earnhardt Jr.’s view on the two-car tandem drafting that dominated the Daytona 500 and is likely to dominate Sunday’s race here.

In brief, he hates it.

“I’m hoping this kind of racing goes away fast so we don’t have to talk about this no more,” he said. “It’s a mess. This is a bunch of crap.”

He was just getting warmed up.

“I mean everybody thinks it is cool now because it’s new and it’s neat and ‘Wow, what is going on?’ Everybody is getting a big kick out of it. Over the long haul, man, it’s not the best.

“It is not as good as 40 dudes in one pack racing like hell trying to get to the front. It is nowhere near as good as that. Give me that any day over this. Over the long haul, people will realize it and go, ‘Yeah, OK.’

“The novelty of this – once the new of all this wears off, how interesting this is and how unique it is wears off, I think that people will start to see.”

So, should NASCAR approach Daytona and Talladega rules differently?

“I think NASCAR is doing what they think is right, and I don’t want to say what they are doing is wrong, because I don’t know,” Earnhardt Jr. said. “I don’t know whether I’m right or wrong.
