What baffles me is that they considered the 2013 draft class "so weak," presumably even compared to the 2014 draft class. Yet, almost every 2014 mock draft I stumbled upon, had Bray going in the top 5 and pointed out that he will for sure be a top 5 prospect if he matures for one more year at Tennessee. Half of these mocks had him at #1 OVERALL. Yet, these SAME mock-drafters had him mocked to go in the 3rd or 4th round of the 2013 (QB WEAK) class, with the reason for him dropping so so, being his character concerns.

To me it just doesn't add up. Is 1 measly extra year of maturity at Tennessee THAT important in terms of a kid's maturity/draft stock to the extent where half the guys who are mocking 2014, had him going #1 overall in 2014 and almost all of them had him in the top 5, yet he was mocked to drop in the QB weak 2013 draft...which he did...??!?! I don't get it.

Nevertheless though, we signed a kid in 2013 as an UDFA who MANY respectable mock drafters had mocked to go #1 overall in the 2014 draft. The POTENTIAL for Bray being a steal as an UDFA is unbelievably real.

And although many analysts, reporters, scouts, etc. considered it a mistake for him to declare this year, I can see his point. To my knowledge, the offensive system at Tennessee was going to change substantially. Not to mention, he was losing an abundance of weapons. I'd like to see how his receivers have been doing in camp...maybe it will give us a slight indication whether it was Bray that made them look good or them that made Bray look good. When I sporadically ventured to Vol boards, that was a real debate amongst fans. It is widely speculated that his supporting cast threw him under the bus which contributed to his drop in the draft, but shit like that can be triangulatory, so it's difficult to decide how credible that sort of shit is.

When Axl gets the inevitable injury and Daniel steps in( for all of one possessionLMAO before getting yanked), then yes, it will be so.

I think it's more of a hope and pray. We are aware that Warner, Romo, and Delhome are long shots, but Bray isn't James Killian either.

They showed some highlights of Smith's play on ChiefsLive tonight. Don't know if the pass plays shown were all from today or not, but all of the throws were leading Charles and McCluster right in stride with lots of room to run.

They also said Smith only has one INT so far in camp, and that one should have been caught (Hemmingway I think), as it was right in the receivers hands around waist high and he flipped it up in the air right to the DB.

The other day they tried to tell us that Sean Smith was the very answer to the Chiefs' prayers at the CB2 position. That he may be, but his play thus far in training camp says otherwise.

Smith hasn't been bad. I think I read somewhere that most of the catches in TC against him came when he wasn't pressing. We'll be pressing most of the year so that won't be a big issue.
