Hilton should shower in the shitter!

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-17-2015 08:44 PM

AJ Ricker has destroyed this offense. Destroyed it.

GloryDayz 10-17-2015 08:46 PM

And the ST coach needs to be fired! He's FAILED at coaching his players to do the right things at the right times. It's tough to believe these kids are this stupid.

It's time for Gary to think about next year, even if the ST gets less stupid, the O-line is just terrible. They play like boys amongst men...

POND_OF_RED 10-17-2015 08:52 PM

Who the **** starts a two minute drill at there own 17 with a speed option? Pinkel's such a ****ing idiot.

That was Henson. And he called it because he doesn't trust the line. And he shouldn't.

Still, I'd be fine with Henson getting shitcanned this year, but Ricker absolutely has to go.

The man makes Peter Giunta look like Bill Belichick.

They don't have a dedicated special teams coach. Several coaches share duties, chiefly Brian Jones, Cornell Ford, and the LB coach.

I was hesitant to start blaming Henson until I saw what things looked like with an actual QB under center. But he has to take major, major blame at this point. His offense does not utilize the middle of the field enough. His playcalling is suspect (and yeah, the speed option on 1st and 10 from your own 16 needing to run the two-minute drill is indefensible). And the O has regressed drastically since he lost the experienced talent he inherited in Year 1.

AJ Ricker is also a problem. The OL shouldn't be this bad, but whatever he's doing is hurting, not helping.

Overall, I'm still really excited about Drew Lock and the young talent Missouri has in the freshman and sophomore classes. If they can find AVERAGE OL play and get a contribution at RB from Abbington/Doherty/Nate Strong, it has the potential to become a special unit in the next few years.

Lock is going to be really, really good if they can protect for him. That 4th and 17 throw was an AMAZING play. If J'Mon Moore makes an average play on that, it's a conversion and huge pickup.

I don't like how we continue to call plays for Lock that were put in place to cover Mauk's shortcomings. We don't need to constantly shift the pocket with Lock. He's tall enough to see over the line and has good pocket awareness. The last thing we need is to turn him into a spaz in the pocket, but damn it if we aren't trying.

Dr. Gigglepants 10-18-2015 08:18 AM

We have an absolute dearth of playmakers this year. I've never even seen anything like this. Even when guys get multiple chances they just refuse to make a big catch or INT, over and over. I hope that reverses with experience in the future.

Also our PR and KR game is as bad as I've seen it be.

I agree with this...Lock will stay in the pocket much moreso than Mauk...none of those pocket shifting plays seemed to work. They just create a harder throw for Lock...hate those plays.

Bowser 10-18-2015 09:06 AM

So if Marquise Doherty can't get some playing time with the group of guys in front of him, I guess he's either injured or isn't the talent they thought he was coming in? Because at this point, I'd say the offense needs every single playmaker they can possibly get their hands on...

kepp 10-18-2015 09:56 AM

I chose not to watch or follow the game, instead having a movie night with the family. Glad I made that choice.

Mizzou_8541 10-18-2015 11:56 AM

I feel bad for our defense. They played their asses off, were on the field for most of the game, gave up nine points, and we lost. I blame Ricker and the embarrassingly awful OL.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-18-2015 12:22 PM

I'm hoping that Pinkel holds on long enough for Chase to make his way into coaching. Once his NFL career is over, I think he could make a great OC and eventual coach.

Maybe Odom can bring him back as his OC?

Fairly confident either Tom Hermann or Barry odom is the next head coach at Mizzou. Not sure Hermann will still be available at that point, though.

Odom is so good, I think he could have coached last year's MIZZOU basketball team to 15 wins...

Yeah, the Odom gamble looks like it's going to work out extremely well.

The biggest risk we took was the possibility of losing Kuligowski but we seem to have paid him well enough to keep him around for a little while longer.

That's the race I see coming - will Pinkel retire in time for Odom to move into his chair and Kul to get the DC gig before Kul moves on. I suspect he's going to get some nice offers next season after yet another year of this DL playing it's tail off.

The good news is that I don't think we're looking at another Stull or Widenhofer for a very long time. Pinkel has not only rebuild the program, but he appears to have developed a very strong coaching 'tree' that came up in the Missouri program. We'll have some very talented coaching candidates for a long time.

Yeah. I think Pinkel sticks through 2016 or 2017. That gives him the opportunity to cash in on the current freshman and soph. classes, which are the best he has recruited in back-to-back years.

Looking for a new coach in 2018... Herman is my No. 1 choice. I think he's the next coaching superstar (And Urban Meyer does, too). But he might not be on the market at that point... key would be for him to stay at Houston or land at a P5 program that's a step down the run for Mizzou. Hopefully, he sticks in Houston at least three years.

Best case at that point, IMO, would be Odom going elsewhere to be the head man, and having success/being ready for the Mizzou job 4-5 years into Herman's tenure, as I think he'd eventually be poached by a blue blood.

This game is going to be a three-and-out fest.

Mizzou_8541 10-24-2015 02:26 PM

Well, defense still really good. Offense is still embarrassing. With each three and out, my hate for Ricker and Henson grows.

Mizzou_8541 10-24-2015 02:35 PM

Jesus this is frustrating.

kepp 10-24-2015 02:36 PM

Completely inept oline

Bob Dole 10-24-2015 02:43 PM

Offense is terribad.

Mizzou_8541 10-24-2015 02:45 PM

Amazing how high our defense ranks given how much they are in the field. It's been what, 9 quarters since our offense has score a TD?

kepp 10-24-2015 02:47 PM

That's OPI

The D has to be sick and tired of the offensive ineptitude.

We are ridiculously inept on offense and special teams. I'm ready for Pinkel to call it a career.

Reaper16 10-24-2015 03:17 PM

I don't think I've seen a major conference team who run blocks as poorly as this Mizzou team does. It's astounding.

Definitely the worst run blocking O-Line I've seen at Mizzou...And they're not very good at pass blocking either.

Ricker's gotta go. But we all know he won't be fired.

loce1959 10-24-2015 03:34 PM

Trying to provide therapy by watching KU-OK St.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-24-2015 03:41 PM

Josh Henson is the greatest defensive coordinator of all-time.

KCrockaholic 10-24-2015 03:52 PM

This Mizz offense is unwatchable. Just zero big play talent on the field right now. Maybe in a couple years it'll be back to normal.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-24-2015 04:08 PM

Henson has to at least try to use the middle of the field for something other than bombs

Bambi 10-24-2015 04:08 PM

They just aren't very good football players. Mizzou has done a great job of making chicken salad out of **/*** recruits, but these guys just ****ing suck dick, and the offensive playcalling makes absolutely no use of the middle of the field

Pitt Gorilla 10-24-2015 04:30 PM

Lock has been inches away on several throws, after given time.

Why won't Henson call plays that use the intermediate middle of the field.

We get better at O-line and a RB that keeps the other team's DC, and D, thinking, and this could be a pretty awesome offense.

Alex Smith syndrome.

Could be wrong but I don't think Mizzou has scored a touchdown in 12 quarters. Three games. Three games without a touchdown.

The pass blocking hasn't been completely horrible this game, just bad. Receivers have to get open and catch the ball, and Lock has to work on his deep accuracy.

Also in b4 people call for Pinkel's head, although it would be an awful idea right now.

Too soon to call for Pinkel's head, but there might not be a single offensive coach who should return.

Ricker should be fired immediately after they lose to Arky.

Maybe they will but they would be wrong, IMO. Two more years like this and maybe he should go. Washington, Henson, and Ricker should go though.

BryanBusby 10-24-2015 06:24 PM

This is the eventual blow back from a shit ass recruiting class mixed in with losing a lot of talent two years in a row.

After 2 SEC East titles, he should get one mulligan. Problem with trying to swap him out is they don't have anyone internally ready to take over and externally, the pool looking for a new HC is gonna be stacked.

Who the **** would choose Missouri over USC or Miami?
